Normal paint as standard Marie - as in basecoat and lacquer just like the bodywork is.

Not sure on the look better, proper wet paint finish will always have a better gloss and look to them than powdercoat.

They where options, for what they cost I am not sure why anyone would have not ticked them.

Even an exhaust alone goes some way to smoothing everything out. My friends 172 with a cat back Magnex has no noticable feeling when it comes on cam like my 182 does. Which is was proved when they where both rolling roaded at the same place and even the graphs showed it.
