Just to correct one small point (cause I am pedantic) it doesnt change depending on revs, it changes as your speed increases (more road noise and all that)
Just a little more info, you might still want it too adjust the volume but not as much.

I dunno, I though whats the point too, but I guess it would be okay for long trips just chuck all your drinks in the glove and whenever you go to take a drink it will be ice cold.
But ye I guess they could have just included a fridge in the boot.
I know you will loose power with aircon on, but it really isnt noticable. I guess the only way to tell would be for someone to do some 1/4 miles with aircon off and then on, or a RR or somthing.
Okay here is my opinion based on encounters with Cups and an extensive test drive.
The Cup has nothing on a 172 in a straigt line. The difference is so small a fly hitting the cups windscreen would make it loose.
You would have to be a pretty good/mental driver to see any difference...
