yeh dont do it mate. for me the best thing about 172's is the nice stealth exhausts. a 172 cup just wouldnt be the same trying to look like its trying to be a 182.

just make sure you get the correct ngk's for the car. any others will more than likley give you problems so dont skimp on them

On the drop down menu choose sport, it's a tad more expensive because it comes with a centre silencer. However yes it will be pretty quiet but I've heard one once decat and it sounded lovely.

If the rear bearings are dying then you'd be better off jut buying a new set of rear disks an pads from nwperformace and change em yourself as the bearings are already pressed in. It'd be cheaper than paying someone to press the old bearings out and youl be getting new brakes aswel

Exhaust note will be the same. If you go with a cone youl get a nice roar when you floor it but other than that itl be the same. I had a knn cone on my old 1.2, biggest waste of money ever.

also i noticed when i took off the cat that there was no gasget there between the cat and manifold, i made my own with a giant dollop of black high temp silicon to put me on till i get my cat fitting kit from nw performance. its not blowing so seems ok for now.

just fitting my decat pipe and got it on ok. however im finding it impossible to remove the old lambda sensor from the cat. will the car run if i just dont plug it in? my decat pipe doesnt have a lambda hole anyway so was planning on tying it up.

Lol I've just ordered from nw perf and they forgot to put the hole in anyway. But to be honest I don't care as the light is more than likely gonna come on either way. Some people get it some don't.

because the milltek decat pipe doesnt have the same fitment as the stock exhaust and cat like the kteks do, it can only be used with a milltek system.

Ah right, I'll have a look at the state of the old bolts and gasket. Old owner said he'd had a new cat on last year so maybe had a new set on aswel. If the bolts are nackered would most motor factors sell them for pennies or are they special ones?

Just ordered my decat from nwperformance, 58 quid what a bargain. Anyway, just wondering if theres going to be any other bits ill need to fit it like new gasgets or bolts? Is it really as simple as remove the clamp from center, remove the 2 bolts and lambda and replace with decat pipe?
