Like I said at the start, I doubt I'd ever really go for something like that. I've thrown away a lot of money on cars but I think I've *just* got enough self restraint and past experience to know that spending £6k on a turbo conversion for a car I don't 100% love or want to keep forever...
The interior trim looks quite good. I dunno why you'd spend all that money to make the outside look like a corsa though? :S P.S. What is that crap hanging from the rear-view mirror?
If it's not going as fast as a new system it has to one of the following:
-Not enough power being supplied to motors
-Motors are worn and just aren't as efficient as when they were new
-ingress of dirt into motor or linkages causing friction against movement of motor/linkages
-ingress of dirt...
I've not done 139 in my car for a while but I remember that when I do get to 139 in 5th(top speed), the revs are nowhere near the 7k limit or whatever it is. I think it's more like 5500 or something. Surely all mk2 172 must have exactly the same gear ratio and so mustn't they all have the same...
I think traction control works by the computer sensing the wheels turning and comparing that to the rate at which they should be turning for the given revs. Basically it "watches" for wheelspin and then cuts the power when it detects it. The ESP is slightly different as ESP applies breaks to...
Can all the people on here with 172/182 turbos please tell me their feelings on it? I think realistically it's not something I could ever bring myself to spend the money on. But there's no harm me asking is there? ;) Where did you get it done? What actual power and torque figures did your...
How much is it to get one on it's own and where from?
My 48k service is coming up. Renault Manchester quoted me £200 without pollen filter or £240 with. I'm trying to decide what to do.
Liquid gold vees start at around £22k on autotrader. Considering you've owned a billabong, I'm surprised you can afford one of these unless you've come into some money.
I very much doubt they will have any renaultsport models availible for test drive. Last year you could get taken for a ride in a megane 225 for an ESP demo, which was pretty cool.
You basically go, have a walk round all the house and gardens and stuff. Have a free bre and a muffin. Test...
The day is going to be at Arley hall, same as last two years. It's on June 17th.
(My GF & I's 7th anniversary, I'm still trying to convince her to go!)
I'd been thinking about getting one. Everyone who I ask if I should get one says that they are good but they never play on them. Which is making me think not to bother.
You can access the back of the panel by putting you hand up behind from the bottom. There are just some clips you squeeze to release it. Mine rattles too. I added some neoprene foam and sellotape to one of the clips to hold it tighter.
If that's only £5.5k, I don't think you could complain if you're looking into the market of new cars for £5.5k. WHat are your other options? I know a kia picanto and a smart car cost more and I prefer one of those logan jobbies.
True you can't beat n/a. n/a power from something like a 5 litre v12 that is. However you CAN beat the power of a 2.0l n/a engine, it's simply called a 2.0l turbo. :p Gay extras? Priorities? each to their own fella. Why don't you go the whole hog and forsakeany functionality as an everyday car...
The funny smell comes from moisture sat in the system. If the moisture is in there and you don't use the system for a while bacteria and stuff start to live in it, making the nasty smell. Run your aircon on max heat at full blast for 5 mins and it will cure the smell by killing the bacteria.
You've got to think iof it like this. That £5.5k you could put into the house will mean your mortgage is that much less. "And? big deal" you're thinking. But when you realise that you're otherwise gonna be paying interest on that £5.5k for the next 25 years or whatever, it becomes a bit more...
The longer you want to keep it, the better a deal it'll be for you. You'll get to enjoy more free servicings. Also you'll lose out a bit due to the colour when you sell, but if you keep it 5 years and it's only worth a grand, then the colour won't make much difference by that time.
I will...
I'm constantly researching at looking at what car I'd like next. Now one of the car's I've been looking at is a Megane 225 cos a FF for £15k seems like a great deal, plus all the second hand models are gonna bomb in price.
My main question is this: If the ecu remaps which are widely available...
My serious answer is this:
If a piece of metal has been put in your car that is an inch in thickness, it would suggest it is there to take some severe form of loading/stress. If you bend it or heat treat it you're likely to weaken it. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but one day it'll...
