the % difference of the 205/40 profile is even greater than the 205/45 profile when compared to the 195/45. Your speedo will read way over instead of a bit under. Anyone know if the 182 speedos are calibrated differently to account for the tyres? or do they just keep it the same if it's still...

I believe there's no problem fitting the 205/45/16 tyres. It will affect your speedo by a couple of % though.

You're stepping into a grey area there I think. When it comes to car insurance you don't want to be in any kind of grey cos when the s**t hits the fan, you know which way the insurance company is going to go.

As far as I know, my car is still on it's 1st exhaust. 3 years old, 43k miles. Nothing mentioned at service at MoT last month so I guess it's still in decent nick. It sounds ok.

IMO the rattles simply come from trim becoming unsecure with all the shaking about you get from the firm suspension. Not too much to do with how you drive it.
