The opposite is true ime. We had BT Inifiniti (back when it first came out), p2p was basically pointless at anytime other than the early hours. Now with Plusnet fibre at both my rented house and my parents house, both get full speed p2p whatever the time, have BT changed their policies recently...
Is that an official apple centre or an authorised one?
IME the authorised ones have virtually no flexibility when it comes to repairs that aren't clear cut warranty cases.
Also did they not do the graphics test in front of you, doesn't take long and immediately tells you if the GPU is definitely...
Sounds similar.
I had a few display issues, such as broken up large squares, and the screen becoming shifted about 30% so 30% of the right had shifted to the left side. A reboot would always sort the issue temporarily, but sometimes it wouldn't even boot into the OS without first going into...
As said, buy through student and prices are comparable to refurbs, you get a new latest model, and 3 years applecare.
Personally I'd avoid the new Macbook, poor connectivity and imo poor spec.
You don't sound like you need high performance so I recommend going for a 13" air as a do it all...
Bit late to the party, but I was the first Trophy owner to approach CF and get a set refurbished.
I can't comment on longevity as I sold the car 4 months/1k miles later but they did say they have a good relationship with BG (at least back then) and that the parts were sourced from them as you say.
PM @Perrinho (aka phuzion) and see what he has, buy it, be happy, and spend the £100 change on takeaways and beer.
Otherwise, I'd be looking at something like this -...
That's a bit of a sweeping generalisation, I know a lot of guys, 'computer guys' infact, that use Acers with no issues at all. Every laptop manufacturer make laptops with budget components (even Apple with their crappy new MacBook).
My advice to the OP, if you are going to swap it, go for...
Cheers, looks like Synology is the way to go. We'll purchase this as soon as the new tax year comes around.
Just deciding now if we should go for a 2 bay RAID1 solution or a a different RAID level with a usb external HDD and nightly backups for better performance. Although with a cloud backup I...
This is for my uncle's business, he's currently running the same setup as me which is a cheap meebox with a couple of drives in it. It works but it's slow and unsupported now.
So I said I'd sort something else out, I've seen this -...
I had done a clean install for Yosemite so nothing much on there, anything i want backed up I keep on Google Drive anyway since I get 10TB with them.
Having said that, they didn't lose any data during the repair.
Dropped mine off last Friday as it got to the stage where it wouldn't even boot, they said it didn't have a GPU that was covered but to leave it for tests anyway. Got a call today to say they've replaced the logic board under the scheme regardless.
Dead happy, and timing couldn't have been...
Useful!
I hadn't had any issues until yesterday, when my computer would wake from sleep but not turn the display on, I knew it was on as i could play music/keyboard was lit but I had to force a reboot to get the screen to work. This happened 3 or 4 times, then I updated the software and it's...
I should be going to this, and 90% chance I'll be setting off from York, so if you need someone to help sort something out from there Matt/Jim let me know :)
Is it an OMP boss?
Some people report the hole too small to fit the connectors through, although it's usually the cruise one that causes issues. I think most end up returning and paying the extra fiver for a Momo.
I'd keep the MB tbh, it shouldn't be slow, mine is an early 2011 and is just as well performing as the day i got it. If you're getting a new laptop anyway I'd try a fresh install of Yosemite on it and see how that goes.
I presume you mean the rubber feet? I just glued one back on when it came...
2 different types of bike holder. I bought one nice new one for myself and borrowed another off my uncle.
Unfortunately my mates bike didn't fit the old one so I ended up using that afterall.
I went to Norway last year.
I took a small tripod, camera, 50mm and a wired remote. In hindsight needed a wider lens, but had nothing suitable. As above, manual focus to infinity then bulb mode and trial and error. Amazingly you can take a tripod on an airplane in hand luggage, even though they...
I have the 42" version of that. Got it about 18 months ago, bloody fantastic TV.
I spent a lot of time comparing them, and at the time it had the best (imo) smart system so went with it for that reason alone. Picture quality is great, sound is ok but imo sound is crap on most tv's these days...
I've had to change to a maybe, as I might be in York a bit longer than I planned. Do you plan to go to a pub or anything post drive like last time? Probably more chance of me meeting you lot then.
Yep, I'm up for this.
I'm in Halifax that weekend, although I have to pop to York that day, but I can likely get that done in the morning and then come to this after.
Is the road over Baitings open again then?
Sorry I missed this, we had a meal booked for 2pm in the end so was never going to happen.
Looks a decent turnout for a Yorkshire meet, especially in winter!
