Just ordered mine, the 128GB 13", but bumped up the RAM to 8GB. Got an ethernet adaptor too.
Not bad for £950 with 3 year warranty.
Nearly went for a 15" retina to replace my MBP instead, but then thought the real reason for the air is ultra portability, which the retina still isn't. Although...
Considering a new, better spec, MBP is £850 on the student site, with a 3 year warranty, I'd say more like £500.
But used ones can go for silly money, so you never know.
Personally I'd keep it, there are times when the iPad just doesn't cut it and you don't want to have to go use the iMac...
It's out of warranty.
I think I'll leave the used one. I'd have to get it delivered and I'd rather buy it in person at that sort of money.
I'll probably order online today, buying new I can double the ram for £60 too.
Is this a good deal?
Apple Macbook Air 13" with an I5 1.7ghz processor. Comes with 4gb ram and 128GB SSD drive 2011 model for £600
Or a new one with basically identical spec and 3 year warranty from apple is £850
Can't decide if the extra £250 is worth it for warranty basically.
The iMac is amazing, and well overdue an overhaul. I'm gutted mine is only a year old, I'd love to get a new one.
iPad mini is a bit pointless IMO, the smaller screens are hard work to do anything but browse or watch films on.
A refreshed iPad just 6 months after the last one is...
Study the route you are taking in Paris on google maps. I know our turn off from the ring road to the hotel brought us out in the left hand lane of a 4 lane one way road, and then we had to immediately turn right, which was impossible.
Thought about that, obviously I won't be buying anything until the announcement, my budget is around £1k if buying new, I don't think a retina will be close to that even with student discount.
I want something really portable, I'll keep the 15" anyway, I think the 13" MBP is just a bit too...
I have a 2011 i7 MBP but need something a little more portable so thinking about getting a 13" air.
How would a 2012 air compare performance wise to my current machine? And is it worth me buying a used machine?
Are the earlier airs ok? I've seen some 09/10 models but they aren't a huge...
This is spot on.
The biggest problem is someone needs to arrange to get 10 people to pay a £5 deposit, so you arrange a day, let everyone know, pester people for the money for the deposit and then 2 weeks later when everyone has paid you and you call to book RSTuning is no longer available...
All interchangeable iirc, only thing to look out for is if yours has cruise you need one with it obviously.
I know someone used my old 182 one on a non sport and just chopped the cruise wiring off and it still worked fine.
Mine was crank sensor when it wouldn't start at all, so worth a try.
The loom kit thing they give is a ballache to fit due to the wiring, but due to the connectors they supply is easy to do.
I put £20 in the cup when the trophy sold to top up the half tank of 18 month old fuel that was in there, still got most of it in there now.
So yeh, not much.
