video's come in with just some acceleration sound, no image.. Does'nt sound like much either..
Have you also loosened the two top mounts to pull the engine as far forward as you can/ then retighten ? Could be just the couple of mm needed !
... could'nt hurt but i do'nt think it's neccescary. Ball joints are fixed anyway so no room for adjustments there..
I once did Balljoints, Outer trackrod-ends, inner too and then went to have it checked.. As we took off the old rod-ends i made sure to leave exactly the same amount of...
They will fit on the 182 Hubs.. These are the hubs used on the Cup cars
As for the driveshafts ; i have a post from Fred somewhere where he lists all the different shaft-partno's. Will look it up now
by the way; You looked that picture up on the Sandtler site or not ? Or the H&R site ?
Re: Possible new splitter found!!
just placed an order of 385 (!) of these this afternoon, good luck getting any now from anyone but me ! :D
It was all i had left to spend this month.
When i called SKODA Holland they stated i got the last ones, as it seemed they went in back-order because of...
respect for being different ! I would be WORRIED every time i flipped the switch haha
But i' even worried now ; releasing my subtile (blasting) cam-power which is there on mine , all the stress noises coming from the box :). Bodies will be the only thing i will put mine through, definately...
^^ right. Just the dogbone bushes and like you said ARB , wishbone, etc. Not the rest of the mounts
Read the feedback on the K-tec mounts, they're a lot more die-hard than the OEM ones.
I changed mine all round and stayed OEM last time. Now i'm just doing the dogbone bushes from Powerflex...
Dogbone + lower box mount too i'm afraid if you want to do it right :( ;) the dogbone is the one that allows the most movement of them all
I've just ordered my third dogbone mount haha in 80K.. going for the Powerflex bushes to smack in there
wearing on one side of the tyre hmm.. this is def not good either. You should also have the alignement/tracking checked ! Do'nt think mounts will have been the cause of that
^^ wow, time to do it. These mounts are notoriously known for wearing mate.
you'll love your car to death again with new mounts , really recommended . A rough way of checking it can be trying to rock the engine by hand, grab hold of the inletmani and pull hard back + forth. Should be some...
Hi Kevin, how many miles has yours done, and if around 70K miles or more; how many times have the mounts been changed ?
Coming on + off throttle definately moves around the engine a lot when mounts are worn out. Giving the space there is in some places (for example only 5mm between...
^^ yep, i had to drive mine a couple of miles to get it aligned when i put the H&R's on , ehh it was quite an experience
because of the lowering everything was SO FAR off that it was almost undrivable, at very low speeds not really being able to take the roundabouts , a handfull to...
no one ?
Never heard of this + i've been on here a few years.. Yozza, BTB are the quality names you should be after, Milltek, K-tec, Prospeed are some other names i could think of
Could very well be engine-mount related.Engine sitting nice and tight ?
And maybe your strut-tops .. when aging they have more movement, cornering could have a "shifting" of weight effect
I had a ITG, this was so dirty i could'nt even be bothered to clean it. Put in a paper one after, and now i'm wanting to order the pipercross one because they seems to be better than the ITG (performance wise, nobody knows how it actually filters and keeps s**t out of the engine)
Gaz, changing oem all round will make your car feel like new , i've done it.
It's only that they wear out pretty quickly ... mine were done twice in 70k , next time round i'm going for the Vibratechnics ones.
Your right there, have'nt driven one.. My brother's 911 is the only Porsche i've ever driven actually so my opnion stated was based on looks and reading of car-mags
It's just that it (Boxster) looks like an Audi TT. Girly car. (yep so is my Clio, but hey, its the quickest fun-car i...
