    Poor mans Xenons (HID's)

If xenons were on your wishlist you should have bought a FF 182. Anything beyond 6K wont be brighter than your standard halogens with decent bulbs in. In fact i don't think my xenons are any brighter than halogen, just whiter. You'll piss off everyone coming the other way when you've got your...

    Poor mans Xenons (HID's)

No be dull as f**k but probably purple. The higher the rating the more blue, but after 4300k you get less useable light 6K is meant to be pure white after that it just gets more and more blue. They probably wont work properly in standard headlights anyway, you would be much better getting...

    182 Tax cost?

Think it's around that or £245 for the year.
  6. bennno2005

    What to do?

Tell me that was a few years ago.... £5k is mental money for a 182 especially in Arctic blue.

    MPG..

Have you reset the trip computer? That could be 31mpg average since the car was new so would take a VERY long time to go up. Reset it and see if its any better. Unless your refering to some sort of instant MPG computer function that my 182 doesnt have.

Phase 1 Flamer-how rare and should i save or scrap???

Sounds to me like you'd be polishing a turd Rare colour or not you'll probably struggle to make money from it especially as its a buyers market at the moment. Although its difficult to say without knowing what needs doing and how much you paid for it. Fair play if your doing it for a keeper...

    Private Reg Problem

You need to fill out a V317 which you can get from the post office, DVLA or online. To transfer the Reg to another car it will cost you £80, to retain it (so you can put it on another car in the future/sell it) it will cost you £105 (£80 transfer fee plus 1 years retention @ £25) After this you...

    197/200 6 speed gearbox fitting into a 1*2 - works

    I bet the 6th gear isn't any longer that 5th in a 1*2.

    Do all182's have xenons?

From what I've seen the silver and artic blue ones are generally a bit cheaper than the other colours

    Private Reg Problem

You won't be able to take it off unless the car is taxed / MOT' and in your name thought IIRC

Hello All, new 182 owner saying hello.

Hello :) Best going for a stainless system of some sort IMO as the standard ones dont last too long!

    Would you buy...

I'd have it, even if it does go bang you should still be able to get £500 worth out of it in bits. Sold my 306 HDi with 223K on it for £900 so £500 is a billy bargain.

clio running like a bag of sh*t, lots of smoke, and spluttering

Blue smoke is usually piston rings or stem seals isnt it?

mot? have i gotten a good price?

Had an air leak on my 106 on the inlet manifold and the emissions were of the scale. Oxygen sensor doesnt usually cause them to be out that much and i would have thought you would be having running issues too.

    172 wheels vs 182 wheels

182 Wheels are horrific. Out of those the 172 wheels but the turini's look the best IMO.

    Gearbox Droning?

Right, took the car out again last night and the droning noise had gone. I'm still getting a sort of clacking noise when i pull off but this went after i'd been driving a short while. The gearbox is still audible though sounds like a very faint grating sound but it really isnt that bad. Having...

    How old were you when...

I'm 23 and only have to think about it because i refuse to pay over £1k in insurance on anything and having a fast car isn't my biggest priority anymore.
  23. bennno2005

mot? have i gotten a good price?

    Take it somewhere else.
  24. bennno2005

mot? have i gotten a good price?

Probably quoted you for a genuine CAT. Get an aftermarket one or buy a used one. I'd be weary about replacing the Cat at all TBH as it usually lasts as long as the car unless something else is causing the car to overfuel.

    15s on a 182 ff

Arch gap probably wont be any different as you normally fit thicker tyres. It will look silly though as the wheels will be too small IMO.
  26. bennno2005

    Whats your average MPG?

So its not really cat back at all then? lol
  27. bennno2005

    Whats your average MPG?
