Just take out the engine fuse! I used to do that sometimes.
I guess the advantage of the petrol pump jobby is that it's quite an unusual idea, and the car will turn over, but not start.
Whereas if the ignition is disabled so that nothing happens why you turn the key, they will know you have...
Is that supposed to be a sentence? :S:rasp:
I find mine seems to go better if you are progressive with the accelerator, but I'd agree with mitchzxr that they are fly-by-wire, so I'd have thought it wouldn't make any difference...
I like the idea of having 4 bucket seats, but how is the boot going to work? as the rear seat usually blocks off the boot from the rest of the car... ?
Let me rephrase that! What I really want is the media centre, but theres not a lot of point when you can only get channels 1,2,3 and 4 and the picture isn't that great on any of them. Plus it wouldn't look so great on my ancient TV, if it would connect at all!
Yup. Should have no probs with that. 2.6ghz = 2600mhz so plenty fast enough. Processor type (Pentium III, Celeron, AMD, etc) is largely irrelevant these days.
You should probably get a bit more ram for your PC though, 192mb is pretty small these days! esp for such a fast processor. You'd...
I don't want sky (or ntl) due mainly to the whole "box" thing. You have to have a sky box, which means you can only watch one channel at a time, and I don't see how it will work nicely with a media center (which is my ultimate goal) or video.
Also, I resent paying £100 year for a TV license...
I think the roads are pretty greasy at the minute. Was coming out of Asda yesterday, doing a slight hill start onto a roundabout, little over enthusiastic with the throttle and ended up with major wheelspin!
Yeah, I live in what I would consider to be an open flatish area, no big obstructions, but according to the postcode checkers online no freeview. :( I just find this hard to believe in such a residential area.
Any ideas of an approx price I'd expect to pay to get a new aerial fitted on the...
As the title really. Anyone got freeview through an ariel?
My TV reception is piss poor. Can't even get Five at the minute, and I've been thinking about going digital for a while, buying a new TV, digital kit, maybe a media center, but I don't see the point unless I can go digital
Don't want...
Yup, they aren't exactly the easiest of things to get moving smoothly in 1st. If I'm crawling in traffic on a perfectly level road I can just about manage to get the clutch out without having to touch the accelerator but it's more hassle than it's worth really.
You get used to it!
Mine does it sometimes too, but not recently strangely enough. I've heard people say if you put the handbrake on and off a few times or pump the brakes before setting off it frees them and you don't get the "bang".
You should get your steering wheel done under warranty no probs. I had mine replaced on my 172 at about 27k miles about a month before the warranty ran out for a similar thing (leather gone icky and worn) no questions asked.
I can't believe the number of these that are showing up! empty boxes, pictues of them, next it will be an auctioin for free delivery of an email containing the word "XBOX".
I know people should read the descriptions carefully, but things like this will ruin ebay for the honest sellers and...
As I understand it, the SERV light doesn't mean your car needs servicing, just that the computer has logged some kind of fault. Probably related to your oil by the sounds of it!
I assume it's just a spring that pops the bonet up when you pull the leaver - check it's ok. Other than that, try oiling the spring / mechanism and the bonet hinges maybe...
I think anything that that anything that causes the SERV light to come on is logged as a fault in the computer - Renault should be able to get details of exactly what it thought was wrong at the time.
You are right. Ipod and Ipod mini have "hard disks" (actually compact flash microdrives I believe) and the Nano is solid state.
I've got a 4Gb Mini, and not had any problems with the disk, but I've not dropped it either!
I guess solid state is better really and like you say, the capacities...
If the serv light was on, then I think it should log a fault in the computer somewhere so if you take it to Renault they should be able to find out what it thought was wrong at the time. Other than that no idea!
Its one of those things I'd prefer not to do before xmas really! If it were front discs and pads I be seriously thinking about having it done, but with with it being rear, I know they don't get as much hammer has the front.
Anyone else? how many miles do you think you'd get out of whats left?
Interesting... I've never really tried mine with the traction control turned off :o Well, only in a straight line while crusing!
Don't think I'd be very tempted to turn it off for the first time in the middle of winter! But thats just me :boring::sleepy:
I would be very upset if it were my car, less than a year old and they told me it wasn't covered under warranty. In fact, I think I'd probably kick up a bit of a fuss... but thats just me ;)
Was told at my MOT that my rear discs and pads are 75% worn. Was just wondering roughly how long it might be before I should think about replacing them. I don't particularly hammer my brakes and try not to slam them on unless really necessary. I've no idea how long they've lasted so far as...
Do you have a track pad, or one of those little stick things in the middle of your keybard? are you sure you're not clicking it accidentally when you aree typing?
I have a friend who was doing this and couldn't understand what was going on!
A lot more idiots probably crashed with their front wheels locked up unable to steer!
I agree people should be able to drive properly, but in this day and age, how many non-car-enthusiasts would have the first idea what to do in a skid? ABS is there for those people so hopefully they can...
I had a few "moments" in the wet in my old 1.2RL which didn't have ABS. Mainly due to me approaching roundabouts too fast and not noticing there was something coming until the last minute (my bad I know :o)
Did the old "on-off" braking thing, but the really annoying thing was that both times it...
Why? (seriously, I can't think of any reasons why it should be better or worse - apart from lack of ABS which as you say, wont really help stop you on ice anyway)
Maybe the logic is if you are too damn lazy to turn on the headlights when it's dark, you're never going to think to turn on the fogs when its foggy. :clown:;)
