Clio 182 - road car / track car / race car

This year will be track days but I hope to race next year. I have my ARDS starter package but have just changed job and have a big extension to complete this year. The Clio is staying so I'm trying to get the the right bits done to it ready for when the time comes to race. I see you enjoyed the...

Clio 182 - road car / track car / race car

Managed a little paint test tonight. I'm happy with it but I will see what it is like when's it's dry. If it looks good it's full steam ahead once all the prep work is done.

Clio 182 - road car / track car / race car

Managed to get a second day at the car this weekend, first up removed the electric windows and front glass Then came a scary half an hour, cutting a big hole in the roof! Measure twice but once, it all went well to be honest. The new dremel multitool came in handy. A...

Clio 182 - road car / track car / race car

Little update, new job and a stag do have slow the pace up abit. I'm aiming to get the inside finished before I make a start on the outside. The hubs aren't back so there's no rush at the moment. I've removed the bonnet and boot for easier access for to the car. I also removed the stereo to find...

Yes but it has been cut slightly on the left hand side. It's minor but hard to see in the photo.

http://www.sesterheim-racing.com/ I had a business card but have lost it! I just found it retracing my steps using google maps! He is excellent but doesn't speak a word of English! Frank from the ringhaus pointed me in his directions. Frank/ringhaus is 300m or so from the entrance to the track...

Clio 182 - road car / track car / race car

I put the harness in temporarily. Very happy with the colour combo of the cage/harnesses. I need to get painting inside but I'm away next weekend so it may be a few weeks away. Roll on the longer summer nights!

Hi I've just picked up my car with the new R022 cage from Safety Devices. I believe this is the first customer car to have it fitted. Here are some photos for those who are interested. I'm very happy with the cage. It should look better when I get time to paint and smarten up the interior...

The Clio's back! I'm very happy with the cage. Mark fish was a pleasure to deal with. This is the first of the new Safety Devices cage. Now starts the hard work!

Clio 182 - road car / track car / race car

Busy week! Sold all of these..... To help fund some new 15' alloys for slicks because I finally managed to get hold of a set of these........ Brackets to allow me to run the standard 280mm discs which allows the 15' wheel. Happy days To top it off I received these photos I literally...

Clio 182 - road car / track car / race car

Bit of an update - Parts have been arriving thick and fast. The poly window set and fibreglass bonnet, spoiler, boot and roof vent are here. I removed the hubs to be sent away for the roll centre/bumpsteer conversion. Turns out I might need some new brake pads! Also some dust covers. I also...

15'' wheel and 300mm PMS brembos?

Thanks for your help. I need new pads and discs at the moment so maybe this is the time to swap. I wonder if my brackets can be adapted to fit the 280mm disc? I presume it's only 10mm difference as the disc is larger 10mm on each side?

15'' wheel and 300mm PMS brembos?

I already have the 300mm Brembo conversion and was running standard 182 wheels with 25mm spacers to get the clearance required. I now have 16'' Team Dynamics pro 1.2 alloys and whilst removing my hubs for the RC conversion I have realised that I can now run the new wheels (ET38) with a 5mm...

Max camber I believe! It won't do anymore miles until all the work is complete and then I will get it all lazer aligned again. TBH my friend has set it up but this is the first one he has taken to these extremes. He normally works on more high end cars so I trust his judgment but it would be...

Clio 182 - road car / track car / race car

To be honest I can't really say because when I had them installed I had the top mounts changed as well. So before I had a car that would turn any direction it wanted! The combination of the PMS top mounts and the adjustable bushes are night and day! Although the bushes are a lot of money for...

Clio 182 - road car / track car / race car

Well this week was a little unexpected for the Clio! I've been trying to keep the Clio looking relatively standard but events this year have lead me to buy fibreglass panel, plastic windows, aero catches and a roof scoop! With all the emphasise on weight loss the wheels couldn't last long (I'm...

The new cage will go through the dash, I have it on order and have said to Mark Fish they can use my car as the test/first car with the new cage. I have been told the end of March for delivery to Mark but I'll hold my breath with that! I imagine there will be a big rush on once it's released!

    Black 182 Track Toy...

I'm on the list for the new cage with Mark Fish. I've been told 20th March (approximately) delivery for it and then it will still need installing. Not ideal but the above email above has confirm it will be worth the wait. Ideally I wanted to be using the car again early March:pensive:

I now have black power flex bushes but it hangs low as it's a bit dented and squashed in places. It came off of a rolled Clio! Only cost £100 so I can put up with it at the mement but might swap it out if the right one comes along at the right price.

    Spacers 'guide'/info

I run 25mm hubcentric spacers all-round on my 182. To be honest I would rather run none at all but had to put front ones on at the time because I couldn't get the wheels over the 300mm discs & brembo callipers. I hope to loose them with some adjustment to the brake brackets and callipers coming...

Clio 182 - road car / track car / race car

At last bits are starting to go back in the car, but only temporary so I can drive the car to Mark Fish to have the roll cage fitted at the end of the month. I was going to paint the inside first but I think I will do that after now as I have lots of body panels coming so might get someone else...
