Right, figured it was about time for an update about my car.
Purchased it in July 08. Clio 182, 2004.
Car was totally standard apart from Stainless steel Cat Back (Janspeed) and Sports cat. Hopefully these may have added a bit of extra bhp anyway. Wasn’t put off by this at all as...
Went up to see the guy who does all the car on my work, said he has the tool as he has done them before. Said he was doing them before mumfords (local dealer) was. Ideal! That should save me a fair bit, may even have some left over for cams. Talked to him and decided to get the alternator done...
I have a friend who (owns a garage) does all the work on my car so labour isn't a problem, just don't want to pay out the ass for the parts! Just wondering what prices are..

Would this be the correct kit for the aux belt?
Do I need the idler? or just the belt and 1 tensioner? as seems pretty pricey thought belts where cheap!
Thanks!
Ok thanks. I guess theres no special tools etc only renault have for the cambelt? Going to do the cambelt before the 5 yrs is up but don't have the money right now.
Tempted to leave the cambelt get it done next year along with a set of cams... I'm guessing this would be ok. Will get the 36k service then aux belt etc. Guessing most garages will be capable of this? Many thanks for the fast replies.
Ok,
Car was first registered 03/2004.
It now has 24k on it and 10k since last service which will be a year ago on 28th of this month. Now im just wondering as I know the belts haven't been done what I need to get done. This will be the cars 4th service.
Thanks
Jack.
Bilt Hamber is good stuff, purchased some after reading up on it over at DW. Good stuff, being able to use water as a lube sure is useful too! I went for the regular stuff and it does a great job. Have a bowl of warm / hot water there to warm it up everynow and then in this weather too.
I have a canon a640 which i got off ebay about 8 months ago for £100 brand new was going for bout £140 everywhere else. It was an american import but already in the country. Quality cameras highly recommend it and its 10mp.
Sorry, im not a hater, have used it before with good results, but didn't realise it was that durable thats all. Figured a nice hard wax would last a bit longer. It's a good product but mine doesn't see much use now :(
