Re: iPhone Q&A DONT START ONE QUESTION IPHONE THREADS. **POST HERE**
Settings > General > Network > Data Roaming
It defaults to off IIRC anyway, but best to double check.
Re: iPhone 3.0 Discussion
The metadata search engine that's in OS X, seeing as how all the information on the iPhone is pretty much stored inside sqlite, they've done a similar thing.
SQL queries across application data = fast search.
Re: iPhone 3.0 Discussion
:)
It sure does look pretty though.
If they provided a framework which allowed the "in call" state to share the UI then they could allow sat nav to work properly without the need for background applications and when the phone is "turned off" then the app stops...
Re: iPhone 3.0 Discussion
Ok, so that ones in the App store, but it's about as useful as a chocolate teapot.
a) No voice guidance. lol
b) No navigation while in call. double lol
Point b requires background applications and/or a suitable framework for sharing in the incall UI with the phone.
They will cost "more" because they're unsubsidised.
Skys offer of £79 for existing customers without taking the multiroom option is a good deal imo.
They don't care, they can't stop you from installing/replacing a new box as an existing customer. It literally takes a 2 minute phone call...
Re: iPhone 3.0 Discussion
Exactly, being able to forward text messages would be more useful than cut & paste, even on phones I had that allow cut and paste I can probably count on one hand the number of times I actually used it, SMS forwarding on the other hand....
Background application...
Re: iPhone 3.0 Discussion
True. But they could add a premium onto the handset price for early upgrading, enough to make users switch and enough to give o2 a nice little bounty for locking them into new contracts.
Or they could just say f**k off and wait till the end of your contract.
Either...
Re: iPhone 3.0 Discussion
Because Apple are allowing the phones to be subsidised by the network now, therefore you get the phone cheap when you enter a contract and are then locked in for the remainder.
However, it's entirely possible that they may allow a handset upgrade (for $$$ and new...
That is all you have to do. You can install it all yourself and then phone up and give them the serial number of the box and they'll authorise your card to allow the premium channels on the new box.
This is the route I went when sky wouldn't give me a discount on a box, so I bought a new hd...
Re: iPhone 3.0 Discussion
I love the fact that these morons keep harping on about this:
Why do they keep perputating this, like it's the reason that there have been no official releases of satellite navigation software? I hate to break it to them, but if you have latitude and longitude from...
Woo! It's on my box!
First impressions, the channel number when you're changing channels is fooking small!
It seems pretty snappy to me too, looks good, might have to switch the mini tv off and get more screen back for the listings....but impressed anyway! Series stacking is nice in the...
It'll be pushed over the air and enabled when sky want to.
I got a letter through the post yesterday showing the new guide and saying that my box will switch to the new guide in the next couple of days (sky insiders are saying this initial batch will switch over on tuesday).
They appear to...
I have no idea what Q Control is, theres about a million programs out there with that name.
I'm guessing you're after a free virtual machine to run XP in?
Try virtualbox.
Richer sounds are doing the UT32MH70 for £299 (just seen on MSE), it only has 1 HDMI input and a VGA input, no tuner. I have its bigger brother (UT37MX70) which is quite frankly, stunning.
And a review of the 32 inch...
