    Watch out 172s...

    never been all the way, 135 and counting, anymore than 130 is plain stupid imho, and going on top speed is a slower cars get-out, gearing could be a problem for one, either way doubt youd have the minerals, anyways how about a 0-140 race?, thought the 172 was supposed to be mustard off the line...

    teady, thats very nice but i aint a clue what your on about. anyways im happy with my car, it surpasses what it was supposed to do and anything else is a bonus, but im pretty sure i could hold a cup to 100 and see off a 172 mk2 all the way

    mate, my willy was pullin better times than 172s before it was chipped, now its 0.2 of a second faster, six months ago on here a 172 would "paste" a chipped willy so god knows what the cup would have done. a chps not a turbo mate, at best i think its given 5hp. hardly 172bhp territory now is it.

    yeah its chipped mate, and is better for it, has the edge now top end. the 3rd gear difference is the best.

    yeah, ive raced chriss mk1 before i was chipped and we were locked together on the motorway, chris pulled a 15.0 1/4 mile too. now mine pulls better on the motorway. and as for doing me on a straight, i very much doubt it.

    thats the thing dave, some willys are slow and some are fast, agreed my car before it was chpped would lose to a cup upto 100, but now it is chipped, as for it getting beat by a 172 before, fact is it never, and again i never said id take a cup even now, but dont be surprised if a was still...

    wayne, never underestimate SOME of the willys out there, having raced jons on strip, and on road im sure it would beat any standard 172 having raced a few myself, it really is that quick, lve never been beaten by a 172. and there was one 172 at york yesterday that wanted a good f**kin cos it was...

    he ,he jon regarding the BBQ i emailed that idea to nick last week;) and as for my times:- 14.8 twice 14.9 5 times and and 15.0 with 3/4 tank of juice so i was well chuffed had a very very good race with tim and he just pipped me, i got a good start and he overthrew me at the last...

    and as for the not quick comment, doesnt a turbo effectively multiply displacement by 1.7?????, so that about 2.3 for the punto

    hmm, toughy that one, that sounds about right.....ish. the punto cant get off the line in the real world like the willy can so yes its a victory for the willy upto 70ish. i know someone running a gt on 18 psi and notches up 15.3 on the 1/4 mile with loads of attempts, whereas MY willy would do...

    sorry, my fault, didnt read the thread properly, the 172 needs a vent really, although the 172 is totally different the problem with the styling is you need it side by side with another model clio to fully appreciate the difference.
