I think it just gives you a better perspective of the car, here's a picture I took from a distance (not a great shot, the sky is overexposed and the fence spoils the picture) Just an example :)
The location of your car isn't ideal really, too much clutter in the background. For car photos I personally like to take the pictures at quite a low angle, and fill the frame more with the car.
The second scenery picture isn't a bad effort, but the last couple lack any foreground interest. I'm...
Watched Chris's 'how to drift' video and had a go... With it being damp and driving a low-powered car I found his technique didn't quite work for me, and as the track dried out I had to push much harder to get the back end to step out. Was fun trying and something I've never really done before...
They vary in terms of spec... Most Clio Sports will have climate control, cruise control and things like auto wipers and headlights. Pretty well equipped again their rivals in comparison.
As a general rule, avoid Cup spec Clio's if you want toys and gadgets, but don't confuse that with 'Cup...
I think he'd be better on Fifth Gear personally, especially if they let him have his own way and make the appropriate changes to make it a better show.
I'll probably keep a watchful eye on the paid subscriber content, but it would have to be something pretty spectacular to make me want to pay to see it. I think there's enough good CH content already that we can all look back on for our occasional Harris fix.
I think it's a combination of engine failures and high-ish running costs. Many of these types of cars aren't properly maintained and subsequently fail. I drove a few back when they first came out and despite being a perfectly good car, I just wasn't particularly won over by it. I did like the...
My friend in question paid £1900 for a Cup packed Arctic 182 that was clean and tidy and didn't need the belts doing, decent mileage too. Either a billy bargain or something dodgy lurks underneath...
I meant the R26 is worth the extra over a 225. Compared to the Clio's the Megane has a significantly worse reputation... Many adverts have loooong lists of parts replaced or repaired, and that's what puts me off. I'd look for a 182 in your shoes and pick the colour and spec you're after :)
Without a remap a 225 wouldn't be that much quicker than a Clio, but they're very different cars to drive. You either want boost or you don't, and in my opinion the R26 is 100% worth the extra cash.
Only issue I have with the 172 is the standard wheels. They're horrible.
I'd go for the 182 purely for the cruise control although I think some late 172's have it, and it can be retro-fitted.
Brembos are standard on 197's, yes. My 172 and 182 both did late 30's while my 197 only managed late 20's.
My advice would be to find a nice clean cup packed 182 with some tasteful modifications.
