Haha im glad, because so do I! The Ph2 dash is light years better than the Ph1. Thats one of the buttons I was concerned about.. AC.. Im guessing you could use the existing wiring and switch, just swap the buttons ontop over kind of thing? Like couzens did with the hazards!

Yeah thats what I have been looking through!! If thats the case then it should be easy as fooook! Im guessing the French have a surprise up their sleeve, and it will be completely different! Hope im wrong!!

Also, what about the screen that displays outside temperature etc on the Ph1? I see you can get Ph2 dashes with this as well, but surely the wiring wont be the same? Just having a guess here lol In the above post it is meant to say "Do you know what HEATER controls a Ph1 172 has?" haha woops!

I am going to give it a go, but I will probably be on here every 2 minutes asking questions etc haha. Do you know what controls a Ph1 172 has? As in whether they are electronic or cable operated? Sorry, I have only had my Clio 3 days, havent had a chance to buy a Haynes Manual yet :P

Sounds awesome! I have found one for £130 the lot, so rather tempted by this. After looking through couzens dash conversion, I can think of a few more problems that could be encountered. Such as the AC and air recirculation buttons? As his was not a 172, it doesnt come with these features does...

The same way. All you have underneath the gearknob is a spring. You just have to make sure you are buying a "pull up reverse" gearknob. I may be wrong, I am answering from experience with my old Corsa..

That RStuner sounds pretty good, and at an attractive price! What kind of experiences have people had with it? I was going to decat the Clio anyway, as I loved the popping I got from my 106 when decatted, so a 182 manifold could be a decent upgrade!

I have heard a lot of talk about these RSTuners, but actually have no idea what they are? Is a 182 exhaust a straight fit? Or does it require some modifications?

Hey guys, Just a quick thread to say that I recieved my Ph1 172 yesterday, in exchange for my 106 GTi from quik99, and I love it to pieces! In my eyes its a lot quicker, and feels so good to drive! Needs a new steering wheel mind :P haha. Was wondering what easy and effective mods there are...

Are the Ph1 and Ph2 steering wheels swappable? :P Subject to change I will be starting a progress blog on Nicks 172, and I also look forward to seeing what he does to my GTi :P
