yeah, looks like im going to have to buy a Heavy Duty battery for a DCi. Does anyone know if the DCi alternator will bolt/plug straight onto the 1.2 16v engine? or any other higher output alternators?

Just to try and get all the info and opinion on this subject into one thread, what do people think is the best option for getting more power from the 1.2 16v? (presuming in this case that selling the car and buying a 172 etc is not an option). Seems to be a toss-up between this rumoured K-tec...

ermmm, if i remember right it looked like a 6-pin one, but with only tiny little wires going into it. one was pink if that helps! lol cheers jay

yeah, what fred said ^^^ David came on here before and clarified - only the 172/cup can have the "quiet" option. The Dynamique version sounds fine though mate. liam

@ mike - i was gonna say that being a reno tech at least you should be able to fix a clio with a dodgy running fault... but then again on my evidence! :( hope ya 172 gets well soon mike!
