The gearbox is the main difference - you just keep your foot to the floor and change up sequentially with no clutch - this saves shed loads of time, and also I believe the cup cars rev to about 9000 rpm..... this combined with the massively reduced weight and mods makes it a slight amount...

Cheers Joe, From what they said I believe it is the seals at the timing belt end of the camshaft, but there is small amounts of oil from both sides of the engine!! They said they need the car for 2 days, so from that I presume they will be finding out what the cause of the problem is...

a bump for my poorly car!! ..also it looks like it may be the 5th / 6th, which will definitely mean I cant go on the track day, even if I can get the time off work....

How do you know they want a maxed out clio ?? They may want something with a couple of subtle mods to show what a little tinkering can do, or maybe a nice example of something totally standard... Dont not enter because of that - and also, there is the witty taline part of the deal...

A free bump for this... However.. I am torn between encouraging people to take part for the good of the club, and my selfish desire to win!!!! (Ive entered by the way!!) Sod it, the club is more important... get entering you lazy gits!!

The car went in this morning for a minor oil leak coming from both sides of the engine.... Just had a phone call from them saying that the chief mechanic (after stripping some parts down!!) believes it MIGHT be the camshaft seals (I think that is what he said!!), and if so it will need at...

Ive NEVER had my mk1 start anything other than first time, every time... You might have a problem with the engine etc, as mine has been fine come rain or shine (rhyming and everyhing!!!)

In the mean-time you could intercept the signal going to the front speakers and reroute them through the amp if it has the relevant wire inputs, then output from the amp to the front speakers and also to the bass box....

No scratches on my bonnet GR - but there is a dinky little dent - but well worth it for the ClioSport cause!!!!
