Yeah you can use some engine cleaner and a wire brush on certain parts.
Regarding PM's. Check your control pannel, and under options. There is a tick for receving an email when you get a PM, but notification should be ticked as standard.
You can either take parts like the top plenum and fuel rail gurard to a polishers, or DIY it. Using wet and dry from very coarse to very fine,and lots of Autosol. Best with the parts off the car.
As far as cleaning, damp microfibre should be fine. Main rule just be carefull around electrics...

Regarding discs, i had the problem before I replaced them as thought the original discs were at fault. But it has got worse as time has gone on.
Should of pointed that out Gaz, thats the problem. And yes it bangs like anything. I can get a picture tonight. Engine has alot of play. The rubber has basically come away.

Had to replace my throttle cable as have fraid and was catching. Mobile bloke did it for a score, got a cable of £5 on ebay ;)
Just a case of fixing the new one to the old, and pulling, and some plain brute force....lol

You can return 40mpg driving sensible. Or hammer it and return 28mpg. But whatever way you will be pleased. Just look out for the usuals, and be warned if it hasn't had a cambelt thats gunna cost a small fortune :S
I wouldn't be mounting it as a free air (arse end up), just using the well as a box. Basically the spare wheel will still be in there. Just thought I could use this space. Am tempted to make a box that will fit in the spare wheel :) Anyone know how to calculate volume. Need the box to be .55...
