Is this a broken engine mount?

Travelling to work today, half way into the journey car suffers from knocking noise, mainly on pull aways. Took it easy on the way home. Took a look under the bonet to see this :S:S

I presume this is my issue. Also getting vibration under braking, had this for a while, but I can feather the brake and feel a vibration, and also sometimes when breaking I get a metal on metal sound, like abs cutting in but much worse. Complete overhaul of breaks where done about 4 months ago, pads are fine too. Help

Sounds like it to me, had an engine mount go on mine a few months back, when pulling off and turning one way it used to knock like fck. Apparently someone fitted the strut brace wrong and going up the steep ramps in work caused to much strain...so one had to break.

Aren't they not a common fault though on the Clio's? (dodge engine mounts)

In the picture tht mount is normally ok, it is supposed to have some play in it. if your getting knocking then its most likely to be the lower gear box dog bone mount

looks ok to me. Do you get any proper banging sounds if you give it some proper right foot action from a standing start?

Should of pointed that out Gaz, thats the problem. And yes it bangs like anything. I can get a picture tonight. Engine has alot of play. The rubber has basically come away.

Chris you got one of those mounts, otherwise where can I get one asap as need the car for work.

more than likely the mounting....as for vibrating when braking...warped discs maybe?

Dubai, the red circle that gaz did, this is rubber that has snapped away.

Regarding breaking, could the discs have warped that fast?

Regarding discs, i had the problem before I replaced them as thought the original discs were at fault. But it has got worse as time has gone on.

The rubber buffer has come away from the mount meaning that there is no cushion when the mount moves, hence, the mount is knocking directly against the metal. Common problem, you may even be able to get the rubber cushion from renault although knowing those monkeys, they will probably cahrge you £200 for it

hey can someone answer this? as i have a thumping noise when i hoof it i thought it may have been the clutch sliping but upon reading this i dont know now say if i'm in 2nd and put my foot down when the torgue goes in it seems to bang a couple of times then higher the gear the less it does it

I would also get the lower dog bone mount aswell its £31 part number is 82 00 103 802 SUPPORT

where is the other/s engine mounts located in the under the hood? allready know one's showing to the right hand side of the engine

under the engine connected to the subframe and gearbox
under the gearbox connected to the subframe
