cams are only fast road spec. 285 i think! they were set to kent standard recommendation, but my idle is proper lumpy as fuk, it chugs. that bloke said it shouldnt chug like that even with wild cams in! i.e they are miles out :( so you think that the cams being out would be causing the...

I took the car to have it tuned on the RR yesterday. He said hed check if the cams needed timing and if so would have to arrange another day, as id originally just mentioned a basic setup with fuelling adjusted etc. Anyway he rings me back, and says that the car is not running right at all...

just took the car to the rollers to be setup, first thing he said was the speedo earth would be most likely causing the idling problems! cheers

andy gdi mentioned the speedo cable earth. iv checked a spare speedo cable i got and there is just the plug behind the dash nothing else

and the rsi looks well easy to work on compared to the valver

where ths fek is this earth exactly? iv had a look but still cant see much. is it suppose to be attatched to the actual speedo cable itself? cheers

cams timed, fuelling setup etc. its had cams in but never been setup properly. a locl motorsport bloke is doing it on the RR.

a local geezer my usual garage recommended.

it cost about 2k in total, but the main reason i did it was due to the cam belt snapping feking the lump! ideal opportunity aiight! that includes, cams, headwork, balancing, rebuild, fitting, new clutch, box recon, all parts replaced, everything basically. a local guy did the work...

i paid about a grand for a full engine rebuild, fitting of cams, gasflowed head, balanced bottom end, clutch fitting etc

Went back for a retest, and passed with the little bits sorted! :) its damn good to be back on the road! 2 months+ without the car is a right nightmare!

iv had mine up to over 140 before. when my thermostat was shagged it never went above 80 ever! now its 100 normally, and 120 on the motorway 80 or above! im gonna get an oil cooler i think. how much does nick hill charge does anyone know including fitting? cheers

isnt a law that you must not undertake unless the traffic on the outside is moving slower than you are and that your not breaking the speed limit. i.e if some asshole is sat doin 60 in the middle lane and ur doing a steady 70 in the driving lane there is not problem with you undertaking???

if im doin 70-80 in the driving lane and approach a car in the middle lane doing 60-70 ill just stay as i am! end of the day they shouldnt be sat in the overtaking lane when the driving lane is clear.

i do often undertake if they are sat in the middle or outside lane when the others are clear. but can usually accellerate fast enough to be past in seconds ;) My mate who im always in the car with sits in the fast lane just about 90% of the time, people undertaking him and sat up his arse...
