    Clio 182 wishbones

I got the last driver's side genuine wishbone. It came from Poland via Kev at Kam Racing. 2 years ago now. As above, refurbish your originals.

    Camber Shims & Toe

Sorry, I was rushing out the door. To be fair it was a two-part question so the real answer is yes and probably. 🤣 I'll message you with some real-world examples illustrating the benefits and drawbacks of doing it.

    ‘Bonnie Blue’ The RB 182

Yes, they do but I had to put washers on mine to bring it lower as the exhaust tip rubbed against the trim and melted it. Picture after I added washers and the melted trim.

    Jim's Black Ph2 172 (Just like everyone else's!)

A very enjoyable update 🤣 I hate that HPAS on track but overheating is substantially reduced if you use something like RED Line fluid.

    New Clio 182 Track Project

Wow, I've seen that so many times, usually it's the rear pads falling out. I did notice the rear tyre pattern (AD08rs) and thought it looked a bit standard for track days. Lessons learned I guess. We all have to start somewhere. I'm on the reserve list for the 10th and/or 15th so fingers...

    New Clio 182 Track Project

Great day at Croft yesterday where I caught up with @Brigsy in Bumblebee and @SharpyClio in his 182. Did my obligatory sighting laps on my road-going steelies - I love those little wheels. Pictures courtesy of Brigsy. A lovely Racing Blue 182 in front of me - anyone on here? I managed...

    Bumblebee 2 featuring LY R26

It turned out to be a lovely day Jon and I appreciate your advice on engine temps. As you say, you were certainly lucky that didn't happen on track. For someone who's a bit "rusty," you sure know your way around a circuit, Jon. Always great to play chase and lead with sensible drivers.

    AST Suspension - Digressive option?

@SCB not sure if you’ve pressed the button on your suspension yet, but I’m happy to report you won’t be disappointed if you buy them. A good friend of mine came to Croft yesterday and set mine up. 5100s, 90Nm front, 100Nm rear. Left a decent gap in the arches - don’t like them too low...

Rolling road tune on an older car

Yep, my mates 182 race car took 5-6 rounds a year over a 4 year period before letting go. It wasn’t a low mileage engine either.

    Installing Rear lines - 182

You mean you're not doing a track day tomorrow?

    172 Cup OEM+

Under the side skirts there’s a sticker, peel it back. If you buy BH S50 Dynax it comes with a lance. Push the lance as far in as you can and slowly draw it back as you spray. Then turn the other way and repeat. It’ll usually hit those rear quarters without taking the inner cards off.

    Another issue (sigh)

Isn’t Birchdown an hour away? Mine was a dirty Throttle Body. The butterfly valve wasn’t moving freely enough, which caused an inconsistent signal back to the ECU, which in turn put it in limp mode (that symbol on your dash) and an EML light. I took it off, cleaned it with WD-40 and contact...

Result. It’s a rare beast not to have rust in those places. Well done!

    CL RC6 vs PBS ProRace

Yeah PBS if on a budget 💯

    CL RC6 vs PBS ProRace

Yeah, all of the above. I used RC6 for two seasons but couldn't get away with the sudden bite - if I bottled it and dabbed on the pedal, usually mid-corner. My mates ran PBS on their Clio last two seasons and no issues. I find DS1.11 are the best all-around pad for these cars though. Pagid...

    J&R Drivers side Driveshaft

Says in the description 44 tooth. As you say, you can always fit one

    J&R Drivers side Driveshaft

8200352042 is the right part number for a 182 and cup packed cars have 44 tooth ABS rings, which this also appears to have.

    New Clio 182 Track Project

When I arrived at work this morning, it was evident that my colleagues weren't happy 😆 One brother was browsing the Javelin website, dropping subtle hints about an available spot and his elder brother was data gathering. I mentioned I didn’t have a car and the lack of available driveshafts...

    Fitting just rear coilovers

So you effectively have 35Nm on the front and 40Nm on the back. The rear damper being superior. I don’t think you’ll die, but should you survive, let us know how you get on.

    New Clio 182 Track Project

Driveshaft seal still leaking. Enough to force me to move my trackday forward to June. I’m an idiot 🤡 Despite that, I went around checking and torquing everything up. Got the rear suspension on and fitted the brake ducting. I ran out of cable ties but will secure those a bit more. And...

    New Clio 182 Track Project

I’m Just old and tired mate. 2 of my grandchildren stayed over last night and the 2-year old tortured me all night, then got me up at 5am. I was half dead by the time I started working on the car. If I’ve managed to fix it, it’s all systems go for Croft. If not, I’ll transfer it to June. I’ll...

    New Clio 182 Track Project

What a fight this car gave me today. First up I was struggling to fit the bolts through the dampers and into the hubs. I thought I’ll just measure the bolt distance and as suspected, it has 54mm hubs 🤔 It’s a CUP packed car, albeit an old one at that, so s**t happens I guess. Never mind...

What have you done to your car today ???

New radiator and fans, new suspension, new brake ducts, building looms. A never ending money pit. The list goes on.

    New Clio 182 Track Project

Lighter nights and decent weather allowed me to get a few hours in after work. Whipped the BC Racing coilovers and calipers off and disassembled the wishbones in preparation for the roll centre kit and my new suspension. s**t photo incoming…. While everything was stripped, I had a look for...

    ‘Bonnie Blue’ The RB 182

Well, I still think they're bargains and worth spending money on. I bought my i30N for £32,000, kept it for 6 months and sold it back to my company for £25,000. That's depreciation for you.

    ‘Bonnie Blue’ The RB 182

Yeah best way as you can only take the previous owners word that things were done. And they were probably taking the word of the previous, previous, previous owners word as well. Old cars! I lent my old BG 182 to a mate so he could come with us to the Ring and he didn't spend a penny on it, and...
