nev16v, I dont know how loud they are on the 172, but on the valva theyre loud enough to scare pedestrians into thinking theyre gonna be sucked off the pavement. If you floor it from low revs it makes a loud woosh followed by a deep rumbly sort of growl and as you pass 4500 it howls and screems...
LOL, am I truly the luckiest guy on earth, my gf has as big an interest in cars as me, maybe not in the technical aspect of things, but deff. in the driving and tuning aspects. We can talk about cars all day, go to tracks together and cruises. Her dream car is a Evo 5, personally Id set my...

Ive got the Maxtorque GrN D+G jobbies at the front with standard discs at the rear and Mintex pads all round, can speak highly enough of them.
My next upgrade is gonna be to get some Willwood 4-pots at the front on my current discs, the calipers are a straight swop with the OE ones and are...
Goto Elephant mate, got mine for under a grand there and i was 20 at the time with 1yr NCB, TPFT, but its only for 10months, but you get a years no claims after 10 months.
Whatever you end up paying, its worth it, trust me.

You can get rpm switches that stop the NOS activating below a set RPM, but RPM linked progressive delivery is not a good idea due to it agrivating wheelspin
Well its all subjective as t what you thinks best, personal I would go for N2O as it gives huge gains in BHP and Torque, doesnt effect feul economy and if used correctly is total safe.
You engine could jhandle 50bhp in a single hit system and you could double that with a progressive controler...
Nick, I was very close to do doing the conversion before, but didnt on the grounds of MOT and realiability, but if Capt. reckons he knows these things inside out id be willing to give a try., guess iy depends on how much variation and bad feul economy youre prepaired to live iwth, Ive also been...
Indeed Nick,
"We are to admit no more causes of natural things than such as are both true and sufficient to explain their appearances."
or
"The explanation requiring the fewest assumptions is most likely to be correct"
Although the two slit experiment is fun :D makes for good arguments...
Simply because the turbo is a pump and it is doing work on the air. The blades of the compressor wheel in the turbo push on the air and force it into the engine, thus raising its pressure. Downstream of the turbo is effectivily a pressurised sealed system, think about it when you drive along at...
I dunno, I reckon they could sound sweet on a valver, Ive tried mine with no exhaust all, if only that was road legal, hehe.
My brothers bike sounds pretty good at 14,000rpm with no exhuast, pretty painful actually.
Yep, NO pressure change at all, welcome to the wonderful world of physics, doesnt always follow common sense. :D
We could have some great common sense vs qunatam mechanics arguments on here, lol. Whos heard of the two slit problem, the only true problem in all of exsitence, solve this one and...
I think you may well be right Nick, I seem to remember having to remove the alternator and braket to gain access to the water pump and the braket bolts go right through the manifold.:@ Bummer!
So if I wanted to fit a pair of 45 DCOEs I need to sort out manifolds, throttle cable, feul pressure would need dropping a lot, would the ECU be able to re chipped and just leave the injector conectors hanging free?
What about the MOT how would you get through? What sorta gains are we talking...
Well the way I read Nicks posting was that when his scope became disconnected he noticed a loss in performance and his so called A/F metre showed it was running rich, although he was still sucking in air form the wheel arch i.e. cold air, whether the scopes connected or not doesnt effect how...
