LOL, I wasnt questioning the use of DCOEs as a performance enhancing mod. I would put huge sums of money on them beating any standard renault induction system. But like I said theyre not really practical for day to day use unless you like tinkering with them.
True what your saying about choke...
twin 45s will work, but you wont pass an MOT with them, and they need adjusting often and need tinkering with when the weather changes, TBs you just fit, map and away you go.
Cheers,
What sorta frequancy you using for the pulses? I think the Wizard of NOS solenoids are rated to 20hz, have to check though.
As far as controlls go, what would be good would be a box with knobs with the main things on it like, delay, start power, full power, rise time, % increase in...
Managed to break the gearbox on one of them Mule things at the golf range I worked on during the summer whilst repeatedly trying to pull a J-turn in it.
ok, cheers for the info. mate. Another point I was thinking about, wouldnt a sealed system running all the way down to the front and fitting a scope mess up all the pulse progression in the system?
Yeah but no one is arguing over whether the ram air system works as in inceasng the manifold pressure as this clearly does work by the number of turbo or super charged cars around. What were arguing is that you cannot increase the manifold pressure by ramming air into it through the forward...
Any ideas on packaging yet? This might sound stupud but it would be good if it could have anoluge controls, better for glancing at to see what theyre set to and quicker/easier to change. Just an idear

Also would it be possible to have some presets you could store different settings in? Like for different road conditions or whether your using it off the line or when your already moving?
Also some way of turning the engine over without the plugs firing so you can clear out any feul/N2O in the...
Joe,
The progressive your working on, is it gonna be time based or rpm based? If its rpm based what do you propse to do about wheel spin, if you spin your wheels the revs rise and so would the N2O thus agrivating the problem. I plan to get one of the Omex Traction Control systems eventually...
A turbo is a pump, it does work on the air and pumps it into the engine, the ram air effect can in no way increase the pressure of air entering the engine above atmospheric.
Good point, but although you cant remove the restriction as you say its a percentage loss as it were, I mean lets say for arguments sake the whole induction system looses 1psi, so say .5 psi is lost in the airbox/filter and .5psi in the maifold. If you change the airbox to a free flowing ram air...
Bloody hell Joe, you really let fly then, lol.
However I think what you said is correct.
Ive been talking to my brother whos studying Automotive Eng. at Loughborough about this, he and I think that although the ram air effect does not work the way many people, including Nick think it does...
Bodywork is awful, whats the point of having a 2.1 litre conversion with TBs if your gonna weight the car down with 11 grand of ICE?? Plus the install just looks messy and the choice of dashboard/dials colours tacky, just my opinion of course.
Oh and if my engine bay looked like that after 7...

I doubt very mch you could do it for under a grand Nick, a set of TBs would be about 400 quid, then you need a manifold, injectors, feul rail, EMS, new wiring loom, plus it takes a long time on the rollers to get it running correctly.
Pic is crap as its a pic of my TV with a video playing me and my bro. made, didnt have the camera on us at the time.
