If you've got SRP then that's a good to use to prep for the EGP and you've probably got some as well if you've got EGP. People often think of SRP just being used by hand but it's fine for machine as well.

My favourite is Command & Spacebar to get Spotlight up, saves a lot of time.

RAR files are hard to recover the password for, good luck. Let me know if you find a decent program that cracks it as the ones I use don't do great on RAR files.

As far as I remember Windows is seeing the partition as a RAW file system as it doesn't see a NTFS or FAT file system which it understands and this is the way it handles that. As it doesn't understand the file system to can't see the files.
