I have this problem with my Saxo VTS. Its a common fault with them, they want to stall when idling. I was told by someone, disconnect the battery for about an hour and itll sort itself, I told this to someone else and they said itd screw your ecu if it had no power for that long. The stalling is...
Anyone ever thought who the Stig actually is? SHot in the dark but maybe Tiff Needell? Seeing as hes on Fifth Gear now theyd have to hide his identity if he was to be on Top Gear too, and Tiffs a good driver.. any thoughts or has this been asked and resolved ages ago?
My 1.4 RT suited me fine, not too bad on performance, insurance, tax and petrol mpg but I did suffer a lot of mechanical trouble. Maybe I was unlucky. I traded in my RT for £700 but it looked great on the outside, red, lowered, 15 inch 5 spokes, really nice but underneath, though it ran well...
I bought mine from Renault new, £58 (yeah lol) but it came with the fittings. To get one to fit you need these two little right angle shape brackets that screw into the holes that the ph1 grill screws into, the ph2 grill then clips onto these brackets. If you get one from a scrappy (as I...
they do just pull off, if ye cant get them off by pulling trying poking the edges a bit with a flat screwdriver, theyll just be stuck on a bit through age.
that car is absolute gravy, i hate those false rear discs, why do people put them on, they stand out more than the fronts and look stupid, plus its a five door! if youre gonna do a project, start with a 3 door car (sorry to all those with 5 doors!)
if youre talking about just replacing the plastic bit that spins making contact with the dis cap, it just pulls off and you stick the new one on, it only fits one way. If however youre talking about the bit that the rotor arm fits onto ie the metal rotating bit, its a bigger job I believe and...
why do they have such silly names in the first place, Billabong!! Why the feck did they name one of the old Clios a Be Bop too, whats wrong with these people?
lol, i once tried to do some left foot braking in my dads car, as my right foot was itchy. of course being so used to planting your left foot to the floor for the clutch, i slammed the brakes on, skidded to a halt and stalled. everyone was pointing and laughing at the silly man doing an...
I changed all of the above on mine and to be honest I didnt notice that much difference. The rotor arm Im sure just pulls off. Buy a new one about a fiver and youll see how it goes on. Im 99% certain it just pulls off.
Chris.
Probably your head gasket is on the way out. The coolant is probably leaking into the cylinders and coming out the exhaust. I had this problem, cost me £250, got the water pump done at the same time and totalled £330. Just keep an eye on your coolant level to assess the state of the gasket...
Go for 15s mate theyre ok. I had a red, lowered on 15s, 1.4 RT until yesterday. It looked well smart and turned a fair few heads. All I did to it other than lower it and alloy it was paint mirrors red and put a red phase 2 grille on and paint red the little plastic strips under headlights...
MB I got £700 for my RT, reckon yours should be between £1200, and maybe £1800, more privately. You couldnt have done many miles in it. Im sure it high 70s when I was gonna buy it. Im getting my VTS from Alex Scott, cramlington, get some good deals there, though theyve got nothing else sporty at...
Rexy, Ive said it b4 and Ill say it again, go through your quote again but add a second driver, preferably a mid aged woman, with no pts/claims and watch your policy drop further. I do this every year with elephant even though the second driver has never driven my car or doesnt intend to.
Si172..Hey, Ive worked hard, a levels, degree in physics, ok my job sucks but Ive built up 4 yr ncb and finally lost my 3 points, waiting for the next three however. Good luck to ye though mate.
MB, sorry to hear that mate, thats why Ive replaced my car. Supposed to have had the Rt motd...
Looks cool, I would leave the headlamp washers though.
£1700 for insurance and you own a Cup at 20? Which six numbers brought ye that cash?
My RT (lowered, alloys) cost me first at 23, £800, 700, 500, 400. Just bought a VTS though and its £660 fc and protected bonus for me 27 and 4yr ncb...
Hi, Ive just bought (well I get it next week) a VTS. It comes with the standard Citroen alarm/immob with ultrasonic sensor, Ive got a sterring wheel Disklok and gearstick Mul-t-lok, do you reckon thats ok or should I invest in a decent alarm asap? Which one would you recommend, I think I could...
Probably the heater matrix is clogged up. The built up air Im guessing is what you can feel. After thats gone, you get nothing. Speaking to you on the other thread, I meant to say mine needs that too. It blows warm now though but only I think coz the engine gets too hot and its not blowing just...
Cheers for those words of encouragement. Im getting geared up for the VTS, its gonna kill me letting go of my RT. My first own car, 4 years and 57k miles in it not to mention wad loads of cash keeping it going. I mjst have bought a nasty one. I look at it now and it brings a lump to my throat...
Getting my MOT done on Saturday a month early. Car has been firing on 3 cylinders at idle and sits at 1600 revs when cold, 1300 when warm. Too high Im guessing. Had leads, plugs, distributor cap and arm done and the tappets. Im told itll be a worn valve as the compression is low. I took it to a...
Ill give you a good tip for elephant... it will help you with your next policy if you havent done this already. It doesnt work for all companies but it does work with elephant, apologies to those who know but it can only help the unitiated... read on...
Put a second driver on, preferably a...
Thanks for the replies. Mines an August 92 model so it needs the cat. I guess Ill just have to wait and see what happens, Im getting it a month early to give me a bit of time to sort out any bother. Cheers.
