Is that seriously supposed to be a 'fun' part of the game? That would drive me insane. Working cooperatively until a point where everyone thinks of themselves? Backstabbing shooter....FTL.
Glad I gave up on this tbh. I don't think I'll even retry it with the 1080 onboard now.
I'm surprised the M-Division haven't signed him up for development already! The Warsteiner one above just looks, well...... fit? There's no other word for it. Imagine owning something like that AND being able to fund a amateur racing season for it? Brilliant.
Same here. Standard M3s sound good enough - that noise from a 3-series must be impressive to see/hear.
Insurance on things like this always interests me.....
"So sir, you're wanting to insure an M3 then? Have you sufficiently lubed-up and got your pants dropped already?"
"Yup."
"Any...
Did you manage to get all the secrets on this Andy? @SharkyUK
Even with the full map revealed and the warning sensor on the compass - I'm finding a lot of the secrets pretty tricky to locate.
For the most part I give up. I'd rather be emptying lead into the hordes of Hell than worry about...
Chaps, (especailly @gally)
A work colleague has scuffed the alloy on his vRS over the weekend. Is it a major issue to address given that it has a 'lined' finish on the exposed silver-coloured areas? Its a small detail and tbh, one that you don't notice until you're very close to the alloy...
Long shot - does the PC restart with a blue screen? We had one here the other day that would randomly b**ch-fit with no determinable pattern. Usual suspects of memory, HDD, power etc were looked at and verified as being ok.
Turned out to be the actual SATA port on the motherboard - it's...
Welcome aboard! Whereabouts in the country are you?
Loads of people have setup their 1*2s on here as a track car, so you won't be struggling for information or recommendations. I've not tracked mine myself, but the one area that is very common to address first is with brakes - the OEM stuff...
Sounds like a mixed bag at the moment. Do you think Vulkan has the potential to be a direct alternative to OpenGL? I've no idea if one or the other is easier to program for - but given the long life that OpenGL already has had - I guessing it has a much wider and accepted user base?
I might...
I meant to ask you Andy regarding the Vulkan support in DOOM. I noticed that option within the settings, but had left it on OpenGL. I simply assumed that any Vulkan 'benefit' would be seen by the AMD users and not by the nVidia camp?
The flip-side of that @Silent_Scone - is there any benefit in the DP cable being shorter? Mine is currently the typical 1.8/2m affair - but the rear of the gfx card is literally about 30cm from the monitor itself. Apart from the obvious aesthetics of being tidier, would there be any image benefits?
I've actually got another issue now - lol. Now that the monitor and 1080 are fully in sync with one another, Geforce Experience wants to try to upscale everything to 4k then have it scaled back to the 1440 resolution. Personally, I think it looks shite - DOOM simply looked like the resolution...
Yep - it was the cable. Swapped it for the one that came with the Asus monitor and 144hz is there to select now.
I'd simply thought along the lines of an HDMI cable (for the most part) - it works or it doesn't and that the problem was unlikely to be an inferior cable. Clearly I was wrong! :)
Cheers guys - the cable was just a generic DP cable from Scan - I couldn't recall if I had one at home (which it turns out, I do) - so I bought one at the same time as picking up the 1080. Could be that that doesn't support 144hz?
@Gareth - I did try using the menu options on the monitor...
@Silent_Scone @SharkyUK @Gareth @Addicted @welshname
Right chaps - what obvious thing am I missing? I've got an Asus PG278Q G-Sync monitor that when connected to my previous GTX 690, was more than happy to be set at 144hz.
I picked up the GTX 1080 last week - connected up the DisplayPort cable...
I guess it's the added security of a warranty too? A colleague at work has had his 970 based system water-cooled for quite some time. He said the build was half the fun of having it water-cooled in the first place. I guess a lot of people simply don't get that or CBA.
Sorry, yeah - there are...
For me it was just over a month wait - I pre-ordered it on the 3rd June. The stock came and went straight away through Scan - even after I received the text alert that it had arrived, the ETA on their website was switched to the 15th July.
@Silent_Scone - have you seen the price of the...
Hopefully after all that effort, the owner will pull away from the bushes and branches that caused havoc on the passenger side.
You just know that won't happen.... :P
I'd agree with Andy here. You're really going to be scraping the barrel in terms of overall performance for that kind of money. You can get lucky and find someone selling kit that they don't really know the value of - but personally I'd hang fire and wait until you could muster £600-£700. That...
Does sound a good spec for the money - will be interesting to see what you think of it.
Sticking with AMD, I can't believe how much money these have haemorrhaged - for a £1,300+ card from 2014. Just a shame you need your own Sellafield to power the bloody thing...
Miss it - got some more elsewhere, if I can remember where!
