mate i reckon its the ISCV, mine was clicking as well like u say. if its sticking it wont let the engine idle correctly, only problem is they are quite expensive new! speedo cable is a bit cheaper to try 1st...
thats what it was on mine anyhoo! good luck
mine was doing the opposite, idling too low.....changed the speedo cable first, same problem :( cleaned iscv, etc etc same problem :(
changed it to a new ISCV and it sorted it out :)
cheaper to get a willy lump i suppose as its a straight swap and u can flog ur 1800, but if u tune the 1800 you will see nice gains, but still only really over 4k revs. but u could always slap a 2.0 bottom end on later.
ah cool, so would it be done on a RR? I spoke to a guy local he said once the engines been built he will set it up on his RR for me. Do u reckon this would inc cam timings? might give him a bell tomorrow!
Ben mate,
iv got kent fast roads in mine and verniers, but when the engine was built they were timed to manufacturers recommendations.
Car runs fine, but would i need to take it to a RR to get it setup, inc cam timing etc?
Cheers
