TwoSugars. Its a quiz and not a test, they said to us "quiz tomorrow morning" but they refused to answer any questions about it being a pass fail, but the word quiz implies fun!
It was stuff like, "what sequence do traffic lights go at a pedestrian crossing", "whats the outside lane for on a...
Been there. Done it, no problem.
prepare for lots of boy racers! Theyll talk loads of crap about how you should be looking out for people 3 cars back ("Its ok officer, when I hit the car infront I was looking 3 cars back to check that they wernt going to have an accident").
Like dave said...
you need to listen to them! Ive had some infinity 505cs and hated them (Quite harsh to my ears), other people seem to get on ok with them though - if I were you Id go somewhere where they have a them plumbed in so you can get an "idea" of what theyll sound like, probably sound totally different...
Thanks Neil & blink.
Unless Im looking at the wrong grommit, I dont need to pull the carpet back, the grommit Im looking at is fairly high up on the passenger side, this is as far as actually getting the cable through, I may well have to pull the carpet back to feed it through the car....
A...
Cool. After reading various threads on here Im left just a little confused about the whole grommit/release cable operation. What I really want to know is, do you pull the grommit into the car? (I read one thread where the guy pushed it out of the car and behind, but could never get it back...
Dont suppose anybody has got any pictures of how to run the power cable for an amp through the bulkhead of a 172. Finally getting round to installing my stuff but it looks a right pain to get that cable through.
I think Ive found the grommit (oval thing, inch or so wide, couple of inches...
...dunno about the HU, but MP3s arent inherently gapless, theres a kludge in lame which allows it to encode gapless but there that introduces a whole load of other funnies....and its still down to the decoder as to whether itll accept them....
..My HU (which is not in my car at the moment) has...
...snap dave182. I have an ipaq 2210 with tomtom. I have the emtac bluetooth gps signal because I too was worried about the coating on the screen, but it doesnt actually seem to cause any problems.
The greatest things about pocketpc+gps is that theyre mobile so you can swap between cars...
I think people get confused between people wanting to "disable" or "turn off" the automatic wipers, the situtation is:
You can turn off the wipers by putting them to the top position.
You cannot disable the automatic wipers like the automatic headlights, you can only turn them off. This is...
Im amazed by this, given the amount of clios I see everyday I didnt expect to find 3 other people on the board from my neck of the woods!
Ill have to keep an eye out for a williams in fenstanton (Im from hilton!). Have you tried feltwells at brampton?
Adrian
...yeah. Was literally like a month ago, few days before I picked my car up..like I said was the first one id seen "on the road" in Cambridge (Not in showroom!)...cool.
Adrian
...ooh somebody else from cambridge... Could it have been you that I saw parked on the street at the back of cambs. car audio a month or so ago...thats the only cup Ive seen around cambridge.... Seen the V6 in wests too...looks nice.
Adrian
..Im assuming that it somehow transmits data to that remote thing over FM - Americans dont have a problem with that because they have "unlicensed" free-for-all FM frequencies, something which we dont have in the UK.
Hence you tend to get a lot of stuff like that in the US which is illegal to...
..wow...
I looked at the circuit board on mine and there was nothing much on it, there was an atmel IR chip (generic receiver) and a cluster of IR diodes and associated resistors & capacitors for filtering.
Its possible that yours is more complex as you had an alarm... thats quite a price...
..for my old 99 1.2 clio it cost me about 45 quid to replace the sensor and have it fitted (I think the sensor was 20 or so quid) when the same thing happened to me.....
Adrian
..the problem is youd look at it and go "ooh..automatic wipers, sounds cool" have it fitted and then realise later that its crap, and that lesser specced cars actually have a better system that works! (i.e intermittent)
Adrian
maybe we should ring up renault and demand en-masse that they add a "disable auto wipers and replace with intermittent" feature to the ECU. Maybe they thought about it, but then realised everyone would turn them off because theyre crap (imho!).
Adrian
Ive tried all sorts of combinations like that and Ive never managed to "disable" them, the manual only mentions enabling them (they default off when the car is started), does not mention specifically *disabling* them like autolights....
Adrian
...that sounds a little low to me! Up and till 3 weeks ago I had a 1.2 (99 - T Reg) Clio Grande, I used to fill up every 2 weeks.
Ive now got a 172 and Im filling up with optimax and Im probably filling up a couple of days earlier (when the guage is getting a little low, 1 notch from...
..On the 172 you can disable them (autolights), its in the manual...not sure about the dynamique though, I assume itd be the same... Ive not got a problem with the autolights, seem to work pretty well for me...but as mentioned above, the auto wipers are a different story!
