I was tempted to go the ipod->alpine route, but theres a couple of issues at the moment with the 2004 head units (caching & they dont support the accelerated scrolling that the ipod does).
Id hold fire until the 2005 head units appear because hopefully these issues will be fixed.

And what happens if you crash it? I certainly wouldnt want to pay the repair bill for minor damage to a mercedes, let alone anything major. If you check the wording you may even find that you are specifically prohibited from doing this as you own both cars.
Ive skidded on fuel on the road...
They normally park in a layby just before the first of the fixed truvelos before the "cambridge services", Ive only ever seen white camera vans in that layby and they are speed camera ones.
Wouldnt worry about it mate, highly unlikely you got done if your speedo was reading 75.

10%+2 is only a guideline set by the acpo, if they choose too, they can do you for speeds under "the rule". see http://www.pepipoo.com/files/ACPO/ACPO_enforcement_guidelines.htmhere
why the f**k have they given it a smiling front, the best thing about the 172 is that it looks pretty mean from the front, that one looks like a puppy about to hump your leg.
