I would stick to 15 x 7 to be honest.... you'll be reducing your tread contact patch too much.
They're 4 x 100, but I don't know what the golf bore size is? You may need spiggot rings.
also, with offset, the lower the number, the wider they sit. So you'll probably find that with the greater...
The clio is amongst the cheapest for insurance.... the 1.2 16v is group 7, the 1.4 is group 9.
Really mate, your choices are, grin and bare it or fiddle your insurance a bit.
Have you put your parents on as second drivers? That saved me a good few hundred pounds.
Insuarnce companies are...
I wasn't saying you should by them, just giving examples of what you can get for your money.
Third party is often more expensive than fully comp.... have you tried both?
Is your area quite wealthy? The gf's parents live in a very wealthy area just outside Crawley, but as far as insurance...
 that's what I paid for my cup!
Even with the low mileage, that's too much mate. It's an 11 year old car after all. Private sale ftw.
You should really pay your membership chap, will help you a lot with finding a car.
Surely that's not a standard 1.2 fred? I drove one a few weeks back and it was unreal how slow it was.... although I guess it's unfair that I had driven there in my 172.
EDIT: Thinking about it.... the one I drove might have been an 8V. perhaps that's why.
I know everyone's saying the 1.4 is...
No chance of getting the 1.2 to that power cheaply. The 1.4 is an infinitely better engine, the 1.2 is dangerously slow. Get that if you're at all performance oriented.
£2800 is a huge amount of money though.... I'm guessing you've done a lot of searching? Try sky insurance on here, they do a...
Cup's are for heroes IIRC.....
£3000 will get you a very tidy cup mate. They're also cheaper for cam belt changes etc....
Are you planning on going on track at all? The cup is a little bit 'rawer', less sound deadening, less luxury stuff (that you don't really need). The only thing that lets...
Re: Whats Brakes?
They are great, but the ds2500's produce a huge amount more brake dust than oem pads. It's not worth the change unless it's going on track or you drive hard on the road.
A race clutch for a 1.6.... that's a bit serious!
Honestly though, massive waste of money mate. An engine conversion will set you back a lot of cash. As above, wait until you can afford a sport.
Not worth buying a diesel unless you're doing silly miles.
The very best way to save fuel is to drive economically.... it's not like a clio is a 15mpg V8. Just not worth changing.
You'll regret it and want to change back because you're bored of the diesel.
Search mate. Been covered 100 times.
90% It will be your dogbone gearbox mount, replace it with a powerflex one.
If it's not, then it'll be upper gearbox mount.
