Already got polish and wax in my box, but ran out of applicator pads.
I know it needs a detail really, but I just want to get together what I can and try to keep it as clean as I can before spending £300 on a paint correction.
Cheers for the other links, will have a look at those.
So, ECP have a sale on at the mo (so do DFS) so thought I might grab some extra bits
I've already got 2 buckets, snow foam, AG shampoo, lambswool washmit and a large drying towel. Does anyone have any recommendations for clay? The car is in need of a run over it after 12 months of being...
Well done on an epic purchase and you can look back at this thread to see all the hard work that's gone in. Long may it continue in your hands.
Any plans for it? Modding or keeping it OEM?
I'd not stretched my views up to the 200 really, but they seem to have come down in price a bit now.
Its really weird, like, they must have been an optional extra because there seems to be no rhyme or reason why some have them and some dont
This may be a silly question, but did the 197 not come with xenons as standard? The majority of the ones for sale on trader/eGay seem to have halogen headlights. or was this a cup version thingy?
I had the best of both worlds, 309 GTI front arms/driveshafts and rear beam on my 205. That added a fair bit of width to the car and really improved the handling.
Anyone ever owned one of these? There's something about them that I've always loved. Chavvy yes, appealing, very. Obviously Arden Blue is the most popular choice over black or silver.
Are they a strong lump? Do they respond well to fettling? Are the gearboxes made by Cadbury?
Driving it how it should be driven. Pointless owning these things and them being garage queens. Granted it looks a bit of a state, but I bet he has the time of his life in it and, if it gets restored to it's former glory, all the best to him. But on 165k, it's never going to win concours is it
That's why I did the chains on mine rather than breaking it. Yes it cost a fair chunk, but like you say, decent ones are on the up for that reason. I know a few breakers and they are pulling TTs to bits like no tomorrow
TT prices are all over the place at the moment, mainly because there are some minters, and some utter dogs about. I test drove a few before I bought mine.
Knowing you @Ant1 and the way you like to hoard classics, I'd say look for either a QS, or a manual V6
