I paid £12495 using a bank loan over 5 years, £230-ish a month if i remember correctly.
Its a while for a car, but i dont mind owning it that long, it means ill be 28 once its paid off and im in the cheap insurance bracket with a few years NCD.
Trade it in and get something rapid, maybe an...
A K-Tec stainless steel exhaust will shave off another 8kg from the 182 making it closer still; lose a stone in weight and thats another 6kg - weight difference nearly gone already! ;)
Quote: On-road ability – and the fact that it really does look as if it turned the wrong way at the start of a Tarmac rally stage, are the Clio’s strong points. Interior quality, and ergonomics in particular, are still some way behind the leading standards in this class. Hopefully, the...
Hes an entertainer with an opinion; take a big bucket of salt with him. Its too well known about his attitude towards the French and French cars, so expect a sl*gging upfront (although he did love the V6, as said).
He did contradict himself about comfort and I feel he was picking on things...
Ive been hit at 30 mph from behind in my old car (Fiesta) and the boot floor was badly crumpled with the rear bumper smashed to pieces.
The insurers reckoned it could be repaired and the bodyshop had it back as good as new. They put the car on a jig and had the boot floor pulled out.
Car in question is a 182.
Is there a crossover seperate to the tweeter in the front? or is it built into this tweeter?
Reason im asking is because the Vibe units im looking to buy have cable with in-line crossovers that i fit between the cable and the tweeter (instead of a muckle box), but...
Both cars rock.
The V6 is exclusive, ideal bachelor/playboy car or as a secondary car. The Megane might not be as fast, but its sensible and doubles up as an everday family car.
Horses for course, pointless argument because both of them are great cars.
I had a look at the Focal stuff and its pretty expensive for what it is, 13cm Polyglass units are £250 a pair when you can buy a complete set of very high quality HiFi speakers for *less* money (http://www.superfi.co.uk/index.cfm/page/moreinfo.cfm/Product_ID/1145KEF Q1 for example). Im sure...
Ive had this also, it came after i braked sharply on the motorway.
Once i turned the engine off and on again, it cleared. Not had it since, i put it down to the much rumoured French electrics.
What about http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=3131this
Plays MP3s and CDs, amber illuminated so it matches the rest of the dash and it should fit in well judging Toms pic of the Alpine unit.
Dont lose sight of the fact that a speaker rated at 250w RMS may be able to take a 1KHz tone contiuously, but itll probably be mechanically blown if you were to feed it with a 45Hz tone at 250w. Long throw suspension is your friend here to allow good cone movement.
See RMS as an average and...

Hmmm, I might just leave it then - Ive got my heart set on not removing the headunit. Strange, Cabasse are make some really high end audio equipment and it seems odd that their headunit is poor.
All,
Now that the 182 has bedded in and im totally satisfied, I want to look at changing the stock speakers. I dont want to change the headunit because I hate the way a third party one looks different to the rest of the centre console - the Cabasse renault unit looks really good and matches...
Mike,
Does the K-Tec cat back system + panel filter make any difference (even a tiny amount) to performance?
Has anyone thought of nitrous for the 182? Looks like it would be an excellent mod, not too expensive but very impressive gains. Would be great to engage it once the car is into...
Couldnt be arsed reading all this, but:
My family have had two fords: dealer service was crap, the cars both rusted and squeeked like you wouldnt believe. The Escort went in for a service which included a new fuel filter, which they never replaced. When my ford pissed coolant everywhere, they...
My ABS/TC and service light all came on today on the motorway. After I turned the ignition off and on when I parked up it was fine.
Hope its not the shape of things to come.
