Has it felt slower since the belts were done? You could always take the top cover off to check if it's got the old tippex marks on, or pay fred to check it for you?
Save your money on engine mods and instead get some decent suspension and tyres on it.

SDame here, bit of a whine. Dephaser doesnt knock until oil is warm, and thats not a knock on that vid.
I'd give it an oil flush and consider a new aux belt kit as they are every 36k, not 70k like cambelts
why take it to a none reputable garage if you thionk there is a possibility that they are going to mess it up? Surely one of the specialists on here are localish to you?
