FAQ: Is my dephaser pulley on it's way out?

The internet told me this was 💯 the Dephaser but it wasn’t. Turned out to be valve guides. Better to find a garage that deals in Renault and pay them a few quid to inspect it properly.

Clio 182 Track Car & Daily Projects

Sadly had to cancel this Sunday’s Trackday at Croft because of a knocking coming from the upper part of the engine. I first heard it at Cadwell but it seemed to go away after the car was warmed up but now it’s pretty obvious hot or cold. People have told me it sounds like a dephaser but I...

Time for some new boots. I love Yokohama A052’s. Tons of grip, good on damp circuits but not very hard wearing. This is after 2 trackdays

Good stuff. Wheel bearing seems a strange one as you don’t normally hear or see many issues with those. So are you just doing the remainder of 2021 developing and doing trackdays?

I think it’s the need for speed. Thank god I’ve got some trackdays coming up in August to get my fix 🙏

Back in the company lease scheme for 6 months so new car on the way. Took the old girl out for a final drive before tucking her away until 2022. I’ve had a solid offer to buy her which I’m still mulling over, but my heart is telling me to sorn her, then when the lease is up, go and have...

    Rusty’s Titanium 182 take 2!

Only one i really know of is the PMS 200 Cell Sports Cat. The caveat being you have to purchase the exhaust as well. If you go down the route of the decat drop me a pm as i have one lying around in the garage.

    Caffeine & Machine Meet?

Never been to Caffeine & Machine but has always been on the bucket list. Not much going on in the Yorkshire/North East section so might just come down on me tod anyway. Will i be the only one in Clio Sport then :ROFLMAO:

Finally managed to source a few more Yokohama A052's after searching all over the place. Plenty of deals about but no stock. Luckily enough a good mate tipped me off to a local supplier who was keeping them for a lad who races in tin tops, but doesn't need them right now. Mixed reviews on...

Clio 182 track day car project - advice please!

Looks good and sounds like your enjoying it. Sabelt do a 330 mm wheel which is popular amongst Clio owners.

Anyone know how rare a 2006 Renault Clio 182 RS is?

Most European factories close down for a short period towards the end of summer, to re-tool and restart production from Oct onwards. So your car will have rolled off the production line up to between 2004-2005. As has already been stated, your car would have sat around until the dealer...

Have people actually been scrapping Clio Sports just for the value of the CAT?

Clio 182 track day car project - advice please!

I’ve missed off a few things like PMS air con delete kit, Powerflex poly bushes all round, braided lines etc... Most of the modifications they’ve done have come from years of doing trackdays and things breaking down like power steering pumps, exhaust flange falling off, destroying standard...

Clio 182 track day car project - advice please!

PBS are a good pad for fast road and are decent for track days. As was suggested above, take front fogs out to get some cooling to the brakes. They’re pretty good around track from factory but you’ll soon find the limits when trying to keep up with dedicated track Clio’s. A few lads I go with...

    Rusty’s Titanium 182 take 2!

The rear beam isn't too bad, although mine has gone rusty in less than 6 months. I've got a spare so i'm going to refurbish that one myself, to ensure it lasts a bit longer. I assume you're planning on doing some anti-corrosion work under the tank?

Another trackday done at Cadwell last week although it was probably the most red flags i've seen to date with major oil spillages at Coppice going into Charlies, end of Park Straight into Chris Curve and finally between Gooseneck and Mansfield. At one point I went out, did 1 lap, red flags came...

    2021 K-tec Racing Clio 182 Championship.

Well done. The temptation to go into 5th down Park Straight is always there. And the pace was there from the off considering it was your first time there.

A few shots from Croft last week. Not many Clio's there this time, but had some good fun chasing the few that were there down. New PB too 🚗💨 More satisfying though was the car held up beautifully, which means all that work i did over the winter paid off. Pretty pleased considering i'd never...

So a dodgy breaker switch from Amazon, less than 4 months old, appears to have been the cause of my frustration. Anyway at least I know how to take a UCH out of a Clio now 😂 I also noticed the female spade connector on the solenoid was pretty loose. I think this has been at the heart of most...

Much appreciated @sennaalbronda . The DF067 code also led me in the wrong direction, in fact I’ve still got that fault code now despite the car running perfectly 🤷🏻‍♂️ I guess having a proper Renault Clip diagnostic pays for itself.
