Tried to crack on with some of it over the past few days, as I thought things like the rack took longer than expected (due to dirt/rust/sh*te) but got there in the end.
Few issues meant that its gona be another couple of days work before its driving again, but thats no biggy. I had planned to...
It just felt like it wanted to understeer at every opportunity, I need to get suspension on and properly have an experiment with the setup front and rear!
I've always thought they were asking for trouble, especially not being a tight fit. Dirt/water behind cover, sat against coilover body =...
Il check up and drop you a PM tomorrow. I had it on the E30 before I got rid, going to be using it on the E36 soon for.... well I need to decide what ECU to use first.
Indeed! Ive been keeping an eye out for spare Montreal Blue panels (front wings really) as my two are a bit worse for wear. Id rather that than wash the damn thing :clown:
Yeah, the only bad thing I found with copper based stuff is all sorts of sh*t usually sticks to it at the same time. I guess its the same with any coilover, my FK's went the same on the Clio, and even the Gaz's on the E30 - which didnt even drive on the road!
Haha, I know I know. Not washed it...
Forgot to post up a picture of the tyre, its not worn through use I dont think as its like the tyre just fell apart. Plus, when we swapped the fronts at lunch and ran them the other way round for the whole afternoon there was no wear on the edge of the other. Il post the picture later on.
It...
I think its just because the coilovers are height adjustable only, and probably just based around general driving. Need something with adjustable height and damping, HSD's are looking favourable at the moment!
It oversteers quite easily when required, even in 3rd with the completely standard...
Update from Anglesey - the weather forecast was touch and go but ended up being great on the day - non stop sunshine. Got the car ready and on the trailer, then headed over the day before with a couple of others, staying only a few miles from the circuit.
Literally had non-stop track time all...
Final few bits sorted for Anglesey this coming weekend. Also now got another set of 17" BBS wheels, staggered too. These have 'road' tyres on to be used whenever for now. I've also put it back on the road for testing/developing/driving, hopefully avoiding more wasted days :race:
I got an S2 a couple of months back when the S3 had just been released. Could have got the S3, but its huge IMO, looks daft when being used as a 'phone' too. Not had a problem with it, prefer it over the iPhone4 I have for work now to be honest, coming from having iPhones for the past 4 years.
Not sure, they seem to be releasing different models all the time with v1.01 code? I was weighing up the options to use other stuff at first (Raspberry etc) but none of them did things as simple as I wanted - didnt want the overhead of an OS on a Pi etc.
Yeah, I've already got an external one from a long time ago, the GPS chip has an MCX connector on it to allow one to be used. As for the programming its not too hard to grasp but I've done similar for years, there is help on line and various forums but its mostly broken information and you just...
Il probably do another test with it over the next few days, up to 10 samples a second now instead of 2.
Believe it or not.... a rivnut tool ;) Got a cheapy one that broke after 5 ally rivnuts. So a bit of fettling and some weld = one bulletproof tool :) I've done it with washers and bolt before...
Essentially its all based on C, but the language itself library specific to the Arduino. Their own library is based on Wiring (another barebones microcontroller language).. to be fair its not much different to most things, their own 'language' is just a set of functions to make things...
Had a couple of hours spare this afternoon to finish off the door cards. Started life as sheets of black 3mm polycarbonate sheet..
Rough sort of shape I was looking for, then taped into position and mounting locations worked out..
Cue some M6 rivnuts..
Decided on...
I had loads (a lot of people on here had sheets off me) when I had the Mk1, just got left overs remaining at the moment. I will probably be getting more, its industrial stuff, made at a place up in Chorley. Next time I pass I will probably pick some up as its useful to have so just let me know...
Got round to sorting a couple of bits over the last few days, first up was the engine mount. I've got another front subframe that I need to weld some plates to so I can swap to solid mounts at some point, I will also probably change the rack at the same time too but thats in the future - I just...
Looks good, insurance for new drivers seemed to shoot up after I passed in 2006, wasn't even a 3rd of that on a 2005 1.2 Clio at the time!
No doubt it will be a good experience anyhow, should be a good project too. Will keep an eye on the thread
