Nah unless there was pretty much no oil in the car at all, or if your engine/oil pump was failing. See what its like on the dipstick, if its OK then its a pretty sure bet its the oil level sensor playing up..
Look under the side of the car you will see a big thick box section running down the car on either side, about 1ft in from the sill. Thats the proper chassis rail, use that
Certainly does seem flow well enough, that hole is in one of the oilways... The temp was always 'normal' for a standard engine. Even out on track for 50 mins without coming in and it was the same temp as when I first went out... If it wasnt not flowing, the pressure gauge I had wouldn't have...
I used a valver starter on my F7R when I put it in, so yeah.
GSF, Euro car parts, local factors if you want new, or williamsclio / clio16valver if you want second hand. I might have one somewhere, depends how much of a rush you are in... Can check later this evening if required.
Your solenoid may well click, but thats the thing that passes 12v to the motor itself, so it has to be fully contacting inside (which its probably not doing). Id say new starter and all will be well, since you can bump it and it runs fine...
By the time you have bought the Brembo's, paid for bearings (as the last time I bought them they didnt come with any) to go in them and paid to have the bearings pressed in it will more than likely be more than the price of £90 (or less) standard Renault rears.
We'l see, lol.
Mk1 is off the road for good now (has been since end of October)... will just be getting trailered to track days, then most probably getting rid towards the end of 2011.
Ive got my eye on a few different cars, will see what I decide once the BMW is sold. Its going well on eBay, 29 bids with still 3+ days to go - will see what it goes for. Will probably sway my decision as to what I buy/what money ive got to play with!
