Good fella. Just did some programming, activated the smg shift lights, changed the warm up light sequence, altered throttle mapping etc. And ordered some kW v2's.
Depends what you're after. The 197 is more comfortable and feels a bit more modern. But the Trophy is just epic to drive, and will hold value better. Also slightly quicker, and significantly more economical. The gearbox isn't made of butter and brioche, which the 197's are.
Exclusivity? Don't...
That's looks good. I'd have gone cup suspension, as it's more supple than previous generations (the cup suspended one I drove had a nicer ride than the r26).
How are you finding the box?
Shows how badly Renault have dropped the ball. As a total fan boy (I've owned 9), think it's quite sad that if I was in the market for a hot hatch the current clio rs wouldn't even be on the short list.
Isn't that only true if you ignore the fiesta over boost? Taking that into account and the fiesta lighter weight, doesn't it actually have the higher power to weight figure?
I imagine that once the anniversary fuss has subsided the spec will filter down to become the standard 208.
From reading...
Be interesting to see what difference a proper lsd would make to the fiesta. In latest EVO article, same day and same driver it lapped Bedford South 2.5s slower than the new pug 208 gti anniversary thing. 2.5s!
The meg has more grip and stability than the fiesta as standard, and the brakes are better imo. It's from a class above and performs that way.
That doesn't reflect poorly on the fiesta at all, different cars at a different price point. Apples and oranges!
Drive it like you stole it from day 1. It's probably had a final post assembly test drive where it's driven harder than you ever would on the road. The tolerances these days mean running in meaningless from everything I've read.
We all know the quickest cars are spanked from day one. I'd say...
+1. Don't buy one for the nice added bits. Buy a solid base and go from there. Keep an eye on m3cutters, few cars recently up with decent history of subframe etc.
It's for an e46 m3. From memory all of the plug in bluetooth modules sound pish because the sound isn't generated by the headunit, so you can't alter bass/treble etc. Could be wrong though.
I'd love a becker. But limited options with Bluetooth, and paying £400 plus for a used headunit with no comeback if it breaks after 6 months seems a bit silly.
