Bump. Firstly I'd like to thank every single one of you who's posted to try and solve this. Here's the update. Mechanic has had another look at at and he's got a auto electrician to take a look and they have found no issues with the wiring or the work around the clutch, re checked the earth...

He's a decent guy and he's definitely not like that! some would have give up long ago I'm sure but this lad is one of those who doesn't like to be defeated!! It will probably end up being something really daft because its French !

Faults on his code reader, does this help? the guy is an absolute legend, he's still on it now to try and sort it!

Back again! Would a Renault Clip bring up a code? he's using a Snapon which doesn't bring any codes up.

Well it didn't drive in but the car started fine but knowing my luck it will be that. I'll probably get a auto electrician to take a look before I play parts darts

Battery is currently charging off the car.

I've tried brand new batteries in both fobs but no nothing.

Stupidly thought swapping a clutch over will be fine for someone who basically specialises in them, in hindsight and all that 😢

Can low fuel stop it starting over? it chugs like it wants too start, light was on when I took it in

Said hes checked that, even replaced the crank sensor!

Shows no codes apparently, not sure what he uses but it wont be a clip.

Another mechanic mentioned it could be a broken bit on the flywheel as it needs that bit to start the car, he has been know to be wrong in the past though!

He is adamant he has, checked it twice over he tells me!

Out of interest, any idea why that would fail in this instance? running out of ideas so willing to give it a go!

Update. Mechanic has tried all the above and more, he's a decent guy been really good but this has him beaten, is there anything ANYTHING that I can try?? Its doing my head in tbh now, hes had it a week!

Right, hes triple checked the earth straps and everything he says but still the same, he reckons its the immobiliser itself! Hes at a loss, any ideas anyone?
