Testing the water here for anyone interested in coming to Cannock on Easter Sunday. There's a pub and some reasonable places for photos, and I have a half-decent camera. Looking and going for a drink/food at the Orbital Pub/Premier Inn and going for photos locally. More details can be added...

Mate, I love VXR's... but have you driven one? OMG so much worse than a Renaultsport imo.

I've done a fair few trackdays in mine, and I'm usually lapping quicker than most. As said, Clios are more about handling and ability than outright pace...

Sunday evening would be good, I could bring my camera and get some pics. Plus, there's a decent pub there too :)

Yeah, the Midlands has plenty of members but not many meets... You're welcome to arrange one yourself though :) Cannock is quite a good area for meets as there's a few locals like myself who socialise in the area, and a couple of spots that aren't too bad for pictures. Anyone else interested...

As Warren said, the key to being quick on track is a well set-up car and some decent driving. The quickest people on many trackdays are often experienced drivers in relatively standard cars.

I hit the chicane at the end of the back straight a bit too quickly a couple of times making the back end break away and having to put a bit of oppo' lock on to correct it. Other than that, not too bad... I've decided I need better tyres lol :)

Thanks to the organisers for a good day, had some fun out there and enjoyed the circuit. I left not long after the weather turned, Had a good few runs though! :) Shame about atoubas clutch going, and clio-girls by the sounds of things :(
