Hmmmm I rang over 40 scrappies a few weeks ago without any luck. Im still waiting for a quote from the guy whos doing most of the work. But if its going to cost as much to rebuild as it is to buy a 2.0 lump and swap the bottom end over then I may as well wait untill I can get one!
If not ill...
Same here not 55 but 60-70 usually. Apart from when a Astra 2.0 16v was in front giving it some. I stayed in 3rd coming down the sliproad and booted it over to the fast lane to overtake He did too and we were exactly level untill about !00 when I was just goining on him slightly. There were...
Would it cost the same or cheaper to buy a megane 2.0 engine and swap the bottom end for mine than to have the bottom end of mine completely rebuilt...?
Arron, yeah mate the same wheels, They do look the nuts IMO. Im itching to put them back on but after all the work my engines having done I want to drive it at its full potential for a few weeks, so I might keep the 15s on 4 a bit longer!!
Craig
Cheers matey, Yeah I know a few people were thinking of doing this which is why I wrote this lot out. It would be nightmare just diving in there without any tips!
Just to note the 4th pic down showing how much was cut off. It needs to be cut right to the end on the right hand side. I tried...
Im in the same sutuation. I changed standard phase 1s for the winter and it looks a bit sh*te. Drives much better and is definately quicker. But the 17" gold monzas are just begging to go back on!!
Mikey-
If you fancy selling your phase 2s let me know!
Craig
This was sooooo easy…………..NOT! For anyone thinking of fitting 19 leather in a 16v then be prepared. It fits but it’s a real pain in the arse! At least the rears anyway.
1. First off I’d recommend getting a spare set of seats from the scrapyard. This way your not going to mess...
lol, my mate has a HDI and it aint a patch on the 16v. He drove mine when I first got it and was shocked at the performance.
Im up for a race with a HDI anytime, Where are you???
Phase 1 looks meaner IMO mainly due to the mirrors. Although I prefer the rear lights from the phase 2. If you get a phase 2 i have some nice phase 1 wheels if you fancy a swap.
Those cameras where maybe the new ones. They dont use radar so the snooper wouldnt be useless. I think all the new cameras now work by pressure strips in the road.
GPRS is the only way forward I think! I had a Valentine 1 last year and it was bloody brilliant. Very accurate and gave you...
Ben, mines been off the road a while too mate. Brakes were stuck like fuk. Best thing to do is rock it back and forward every couple of days to unstick them and make sure they dont stick again. And leave it in gear rather than with the handbrake on!
Craig
Cheers Jimbo. As my luck always goes the socket i need is shagged, and I couldnt get it off with the spanner. Its in the car so someone at work can probably have em off with little effort.
Craig
How the hell do I get the pulleys off the cams. Iv managed to find a vice at home but they wont budge.
Any tips cos I dont want to damage the cams as they are being sent off for reprofiling tomorrow. Doesnt matter about the pulleys as they are being replaced.
Cheers
its pish easy matey. All you need to do is get some bulbs. Then take off the top dash (5 star screws) and the plastic round the console. Then unscrew the two screws that hold the clocks in, get ur hands behind and unplug all the connectors including the speedo cable. And the clocks are out...
mine went at 5mph. Wasnt doing anything out of the ordinary just pulled out of works car park and up a small hill. Although 10mins later I would have probably been caning it as I was takin my work mate out for a quick spin.
Lucky really.
