I am talking about on a country lane round corners mate, I get bored quickly just going fast in a straight line!
I am not that bothered about moving to a turbo car, But in terms of fun per pound dont think you can beat a cli osport, so was thinking a turbod one would be awesome. What cars...
Lol, I change my mind more than anyone I know lol! Because I keep thinking I should move out but then remember how damn much it costs to live in Central London, or anywhere for that matter. Looked at a basement Studio Flat the other week, was shocked to find out it was on the market for £190,000...
Well I have driven a Subaru impreza when my bros had one and I liked that but not too practical in central London,
Tried out an RX-7 which was pretty good IN A Straight LINE.
They just arent as much fun as the MK1 172 I have, The Cup I had wasnt even as fun as my current car.
Guess this is...
Guys am probably going to get the 172 Turbo conversion when it is finally ready (from BB) But just out of interest do you think the 172 Turbo will be much faster than the 16v Turbo. As obviously they will both be great fun and the 16v would just be a much cheaper option for probably the same...
I prefer the mk1s gearing by a long way to the cup I had. I can cruise in 5th gear at 80 and the car is sits at about 3800rpm where as the cup would sit just above this, meaning more noise and less economy. The mk1 I have does 120 in 4th if this helps you to work out the difference..
Can you get a picture of the rear mate, ie behind the front seats, Can you get anyone in the back or not,
What is the 0-60 time and what is the top end like.
My front right strut did creak a bit too, where it was rubbing on the suspension mount, but this only happened on full lock, could be that mate, Dont know the exact problem - you could try ringing renault Tonbridge as they fixed the problem on my car, see if they can tell you,
I took one of the mechanics out for a drive in my car and showed him (made him listen) to the noise. It is the mounts which stop the engine rocking too much (i think)
Yes mate definately, I left mine for ages before I had it done, and they dont have to remove the engine, May not be engine mounts But is definately some mount in there. They will know what it is as it is a known fault, Took them a day to do mine with some other stuff too!
It is something to do with the engine mounts mate, I experienced it on my cup - You need to take it to Renault to get them to change them. It is just because the engine in these cars rocks alot on the mounts - You can just leave it, but would take it in for peace of min as your still in warranty...

Lol - Well I do think the older models are better build quality mate - they were a £16500 when they first came out. The newer models are much less. I mean I bought the Cup for 12500 and it was only 4 Months old. I think I am right in saying that Renault Sport Clios are built in a different...
Well I have had 5 Clios now, and all of them have had nigling problems, But nothing major. Once you get these little problems soughted they are fine..
I have done 22k in my current 172 and it has been brilliant, My Mate bought a 1.8 gti golf at the same time as I got my clio and he has had...
True, Loved Driving the TVR but am worried about reliability. Clio is like a Go-kart and I can use it everday without worrying about some sh*tty driving banging door into it or whatever, Living in Westminster is a b**ch for that sh*t!
You have helped alot, Cheers guys!
Just whether I want to spend around £6000 and have that car minus mine
Or keep mine as it is a laugh and perhaps get the Turbo conversion as little christmas present to myself..
Or just sell all together and get a bike + Flat (but that is way too sensible...
Thanks guys - Need to think heavily about this one, Trouble is I love my Clio soo much, Can I actually sell it?
Have tried once before but everone that came to see it told me it was the best one they had seen and it should be garaged blah blah blah and basically after a couple of days the...
Cheers Simon,
Guys Def. Not interested in a poor mans porsche, I have been on Track Days with Porsche Boxster Ss and still one so not the car for me, Plus is well Girly in my opinion.
What do we think of the TVR Chimaera as this is another option - And I know they arent the most reliable...
I am 6 5" so may find it a bit awkward - Have been offered an R-Reg Impreza WRX, Completed Standard and History from New - Am going to find out a bit more later today but what do you think of these cars - Certainly more practical, But probably not as fun.. May be wrong
mmm never really thought about one of those tbh! Do remember when I had my Cup I raced my mate to the Motor Show and he topped out at 133 and I just cruised passed him,lol - Good point - Presume the newer ones have I higher top speed - Really needed when going to le Mans
