Mine does it but its like through the whole car with the 5 engine mounts. I always put it down the box/clutch and just dont really think about it now...
But saying that its only at very light throttle and very low speeds in mine, no difference between cold + hot either.
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
Just been and picked up a new reel of wire, couple of tips and a new liner for the torch wire, so tomorrow probably.
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
Yeah, ive done some TIG welding before, but never had the cash to buy a decent enough TIG Welder. So just went with MIG this time as a starting point!
Stripped it down before and cleaned up all the feed mech, started having a play and ran out of wire...
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
Hah, nothing really. I got it the lot silly cheap from someone, and its something ive been meaning to learn for AGES.
Ive done bits before, but will be perfect for me to use it to tack all the new cage bars into place ready for a mate to weld them up...
Defo sounds like a worn engine mount with the relation to the throttle. Open the bonnet and try and pull/push the engine, see how much movement there is
Its untouched on the exhaust side, flange is still there as it would be standard, just the other bent end that goes to the manifold has been cut off and was used to make a downpipe for mine.
If you cant get hold of one and you think you can get it onto your system you can have it for nothing...
Seen them go on here time after time for £30ish second hand, steve79 might have some available.
I have one sat around but it has no downpipe section on it, its just the cat box which would be useless to you Im guessing...I really should make the effort and scrap it in for some money.
Ever measured them? Get the tape measure out next time youve got the wheel off...
Ive got my pics of the valver + williams arms next to tape measures somewhere...
No, from the 5 Valver Racks and 3 Williams Racks ive had (weather the people on C16V believe it or not), not to mention the other ones ive seen...
Valver = Male Arms, Female Track Rod Ends
Williams = Longer Female Arms, Male Track Rod Ends
Four different part numbers for the track rod ends...
Have a look in the engine bay its a big red button, lol.
Happened on mine the other day, went over a bump and it popped up (cuts fuel in a crash/bump)...The fuel pump will not prime or run if its popped up.
If thats pressed down and it still wont go check the fuse I mentioned :)
Ph1 is a small fuse in the engine bay box (passenger side) for fuel pump
Also Ph1, check the cut-off switch hasnt been activated, make sure its pressed down.
Classic speedo cable/speedo sensor fault. Replace the speedo cable (a faulty sensor on the clocks end, 3 pin connector) causes the high idle after driving.
Rev counter reading comes from TDC (Flywheel) Sensor...Its fed into the ECU for the running of the car then the ECU outputs the same signal for the tach.
