I've noticed that quite a few of them have a second channel now. Mighty Car Mods, Sammit, Shmee all do. There must be some benefit behind it for them to split the content across two channels rather than having it all on one.
Oh there's no doubt a bit of that. I'm nearly 40 so I reserve the right to start shouting at the clouds
That said, things are a bit frightening in some respects. My two step kids (16 and 18) are total addicts when it comes to stimulation. They will play a video game while listening to...
It's the new face that's the problem in my view. The little silver/chrome bits all over the grill, the massive chunk of grey plastic etc, it's a bit of a mess. Seems to be a trend in car design currently - just throw every crease, line, edge and piece of bling possible at everything.
They just...
This is the sad truth.
As I understand it, French legislation has all but killed off the hot hatch there, and the increasing move towards EVs will change the market massively. UK buying trends are towards wanky crossovers and away from hatchbacks.
The Hyundai i20 N and MINI Cooper S are the...
Someone just showed me this.
Firstly, why have they given the new Clio an ugly face? Secondly, isn't it a bit sad that the ad contains all the greatest hits from the Clio range, and no one within Renault thought, "Hmmmm, this shows all the class-leading cars we've produced over the years, isn't...
Someone got out of bed the wrong side this morning
I remember seeing a few RS2000s on dynos over the years. The power figures seemed all over the place. I seem to remember that removing the air pulse system from the exhaust manifold helped a bit. With cams, induction, exhaust and a...
The waffle is annoying in some of them. I know they use clickbait for a reason, but you can skip 90% of the videos in a lot of cases. I can't be bothered with Matt Armstrong, as he's terrible for it. So is Sammit.
It was a marketing thing, and helped them to fudge the sales figures. If I remember rightly, the Orion made up around a quarter of total sales for the Escort/Orion, so they decided to rebrand the Orion as an Escort saloon to make the sales figures for the Escort look better. It happened in 1993...
Had a few of those over the years. The saloon drives better than the hatch as it's a touch stiffer. More refined too. Had one with a 2.0 conversion several years ago that went pretty well for the time.
Can't be many left now.
Hold on, so they aren't delivering your car, and they're taking away the rental? Man, they really are shite.
How are you not losing your s**t over this? Or is it because you're going to sell the truck as soon as you get it?
Honestly, I would be calling them hourly if they told me that, and I would be posting relentlessly on social media about how s**t they were until they fixed it.
Weren't a lot of them registered on the south coast?
A lot of 172 Cups (my old one included) have plates that start with "HT", which is also Portsmouth area.
I'm sure someone said at one point that a lot were registered there, rather than by dealers.
It's not often that @Jaff. and I agree, but this. I don't see the harm in it. Given some of the silly diffusers and splitters people nail to Clios, and the fact that people all buy the same wheels, we're probably not in any position to comment
It's just different styles. Go to Japan and you'll...
Where can I buy a standard centre section for a 197? Mine has broken in half, so I probably need a new one! Tried ECP (don't list one) and Autodoc (out of stock), so does anyone have any other suggestions? Tricky part is that it will need to be shipped to Saudi!
Aftermarket isn't really an...
I'd definitely be cautious about a Megane if the rear seats are important, as they're not that big in the back and, as @Gavin. said, the rear side windows are all but non-existent. In reality, if you want something that blends fun and family, you might be better with a five-door Leon Cupra or...
I think if I was to have another, I'd have a petrol turbo, but just a FWD. Not sure the R is worth the extra money/hassle nowadays, as they seem quite pricey. A 2.3/2.4/2.5T with a few mods would be plenty fun and still good at wafting.
Love those. Hard to find a good manual though. A bit of baulk factor too with the AWD I believe. I had a D5 of that gen for a while and, while it was a great barge, the cost of parts was a bit eye-watering at times.
That's a bit extreme maybe. You can still be knowledgeable and talk about something with authority, even if you aren't totally "hands-on". Someone like Chris Harris or Henry Catchpole wouldn't be any good at fixing a car, but I would put a certain amount of faith in their assessment of how a car...
I don't see a massive issue with him getting other people to do the work on the one hand, as not everyone is mechanically minded. That said, it does surprise me at times how useless a lot of motoring journalists/content creators are at spannering. Was reading an article about one of the PH...
Problem in Australia is lack of choice I suspect. Can't be many out there. It could have been ok. The 1.6 16v 206 was the basis for the 206 Super Cup so, if done right, it could have been decent. They just decided to go down the stupid, clickbait route sadly.
I watched the hot hatch series MCM did recently, with the Swift Sport and the 206. It was ok, but it was annoying that they went the route of spunking money on the Japanese car, but doing a s**t job with the Peugeot. Would have been more interesting if they'd done a more direct comparison.
I...
