Yeah I remember that too. They were quite a popular mod on normal Escorts, RS Turbos and Saph Cossies and the like, but the prices have gone mad for all that stuff now.
Loads of places seem to do the kit. Hard to know who does the best quality though. Maxi Motorsport do one that they import from France.
Hardest part will be getting the front suspension right, as it will need to be a fair bit wider.
Every car I've owned with a non-standard aerial has suffered from terrible radio reception. I don't know if it's where I live, but standard all the way.
I use Tesco Momentum in my 197 and did in my 172 as well. Anecdotally, I just think it reduces the rough running a touch when they're cold. None of my cars have blown up yet, so I shall carry on as I am.
If I had a heavily modified car that was mapped for a certain fuel type, I would stick to...
Lots of stuff on them though.
I don't mind the MK2 to be honest. It seems a lot of car for the money. Not sure I could ever pull the trigger on one though, given what else is out there.

I drove one of those a few months ago...
Buy another one? 😂
A replacement is difficult. I test drove so many of the hot hatches of this era and always ended up coming back to the Megane. The MK3 Focus ST was a bit of a disappointment, Golf GTI I would hold out for a MK7. The only one that I liked almost as much as the Megane was...
I think the big problem was, no matter how good the car was, the fact it was only available as an auto was always going to upset the purists, especially in the UK. When all the previous models were seen as the purist, racy driving experience, an auto was always going to be controversial.
