It's only just starting to officially surface now...some dealers have brochures, most don't, some will take orders, most won't.
It's nothing special really, it's just an ST-2 with the added packs (that are already available) and including sat-nav IIRC. Most were hoping for full leather and...
I can see that having a very advanced and technical 4WD system will give you better traction when accelerating out of a corner...does it also help you on the way in when you're not accelerating or give you extra grip when balancing it mid-turn?
Molten Orange (£725) paint and a spare wheel (£100), that's it.
There's a lot more you can specify on one now...plus they've now started taking orders on the 'new' ST-3.
1,450 kgs according to the specs I saw...which it also weighs when braking and going around corners...times at which your huge POWAAAAAAR makes no difference at all.
I accept my car is 'bland', I've never said it's anything but.
What I don't do though is turn around in response to one of those...
He's an idiot. The VOSA clearly states in black and white that low brake efficiency on the rear IS NOT a reason to fail a 172 Cup.
You may have shown him the article, but he obviously knew better and ignored everything it had to say.
On that basis alone I'd go back and smash his face in for...
I did this with my 172 Cup. Weighed what came out, weighed what went back in again.
117kgs saved in total for me...and that was down to bare metal inside, no power-steering or airbags, and 6kg driver's seat with a standard passenger seat. Standard glass and front window motors etc. remained...
I'm forever the pessimist gally; 100k miles, 5 years old, one owner, full service history, fully warranted for the 5 years, MP215 upgrade, otherwise standard car - I thought £4k for that was a safe bet.
I could see it being worth £5k at that time, maybe a little more, but it's always going to...
Mountune MP215 = £689 (£599 + £90 fitting cost).
Has been fun indeed...but when seeing the low cost leases out there makes me think there's a better way. Still, until I get to 5yrs/100k miles the ST is staying put...and by then the depreciation will have evened right out...so at that point...
You can see the delta on the graph - by changing it I've been 'hit' by an additional £1,000-£1,500 over the 9 months I've had it.
It does mean of course that the numbers per mile/day/week/month/year will ALWAYS get better...as it'll never again depreciate as steeply as it is right now.
I'm...
Yep, wind took mine, it ended up catching/fouling the front wing on the leading edge as the door was opened/closed (stupid door handle position!!!!!).
A friend recommended a local bodyshop and some bloke with about one million years of experience spent 20 minutes with a block of wood and some...
Forgot to add, I measured tread depths yesterday too;
FL & FR = 3.5 mm
RL = 3.0 mm
RR = 2.5 mm
A solid 15k miles on a set of the RE050s looks like it'll be possible, and that's including a very hot very dry trackday as well. When I come to replace them I'll be going for exactly the same...
Here's an update following a few changes over the last month or two.
The first was Mountune MP215 being fitted which added a sizeable chunk of cost along with its first service (I've added a notional cost for this as they were thrown in originally as a dealer incentive when I ordered).
The...
So it's the middle one then...they have a 'hugely efficient supply chain and production process'. Makes sense when I think about it.
Makes me happy when I drive it too!
Agreed!
I've spent a lot of time sat behind the wheel of mine now both on the road and on track...and I can't for the life of me find where Ford have cut costs to allow them to price it lower than both the Clio 200T and 208 GTi.
It's either a loss leader for Ford, or they've got a hugely...
Sounds to me like fluid that is/was way past its best combined with barely bedded-in brake pads that have given a very uneven material transfer onto the disc.
How long ago was the fluid you ran last changed/bled?
1st service today, FOC as it was negotiated into the deal when I bought the car. No issues at all with anything. They even managed to not replace the foam air filter. One tyre's down to 2mm so a full set of RE050s will be needed before long...I'm hoping I'll be able to eke them all out to 15,000...
