Yep engine crane a good garage with a 4 post lift would be better.
No idea how long a garage would take depend uf there fitting the job in or doing it in one blokc. Matt Black and his mate did one in a day once.
Either get him to post it or rent a van etc and drive there and back I assume your in the Uk if so you'll be there and back in a day. There more than just the engine you get there the gearbox radiator hubs shocks driveshafts ECU/uch a box of wires
Matt Blacks £1.5k stuf would include brakes suspension atc as its simplar that way.
Personally I'd be tempted to just get a proper 172 if you want a sleeper take the RS stuff off and sell it and stick none RS bumpers etc on.
If you want to do a 172 conversion Matt usually has the cup stuff...
Shop round thats overpriced have a look on the trader its more overpriced if its an import.
There a better choice there a 2003/53 model from a dealer with 75k on and its up for £5990.
If you accept a few more miles (abou 90k worth ) you cna get them for under £5k from a dealer.
or get a...
Fuel gauage? Don't you just have to stop at every petrol station?
Looks nice those wheels and paint worse are different to say the least.
Take the stickers off and save the weight.
How much have you been using it? Must be interesting on the daily comute.
Being as your insurance isn't paying up since its not your fault it won't matter if you have a turbo kit a body kit 22 inch rims and a custom paint job with none of it declaired.
See if you cna buy it back cheap people on here will have the bits offo you strip engine bext wiring looms dash...
Exhaust are normal to fail engine mount usualy wear our myabe the last owner was a bit hard on it.
The gearshaft cover can fail its due to them being to tight a new ones easy to fit £7~10 I think.
If the ABS isnt plugged in you might have a probelms as the computer uses the speed to work out at what temperature the coling fan cut in at there 2 settings.
You can pick them off the tracder realty cheap under £k usualy with more milage but least more milage measn teh cambelt has beeen done and the cost absorbed by someone else.
After some recomendations now on which is better

Mk1 brakes are fine Imo so point chnaging your'll just increase unsprung mass.
Better idea would be if you want 172 barkes (there all the same 172 and 182) to make an adapter bracket up which you use the make the distacne from your hub to a 172 caliper brakcet the same.
Its a swuicth to switch off the cruise control/speed limiter. its fitted to them all even if you don't have cruise as its cheaper to do that than make a specail pedal just for none crusie etc owners (Ok you could use the old pedal design from the early 172's but that not worth it).
Pm me your eamial address I'll send you the file showing how to do it.
Basically remove the cover remove the 4 screws holding the unit in unplug the unit and take it out
There already another cmpany in Franch who a few years ago sorted the throttle bodies out to work.
Also there a Germany (or Swiss) place who did a low pressure superchrager kit 330hp I think. But it wasn't cheap since it was TUV
