I expect you'll all get bored of this long before I do, but I intend to keep this going for as long as I own my 200 (likely to be at least 5 years).
I'll update it periodically, and it will hopefully be a useful guide for anyone pondering 'can I afford one?'.
Car : Clio Renaultsport 200...
As a unit it's significantly more highly strung too, 100 bhp/litre vs 75 bhp/litre (Z4).
Also throw in the seemingly much larger frontal area, much bigger hole needs to be punched in the air so at motorway cruising speeds economy is woeful.
1. When was the stamp (mileage/date)? Not sure what the intervals are...2ys/12k I think?
2. Not difficult to achieve that sort of MPG. Reset it drive a few miles, then leave it idling while shuffling it about the forecourt a few times would easily give a low figure. Don't pay any attention to...
OP wants to ultimately have/own/run a 182.
OP spends £x on modifying his 1.2 (which looks pretty good already), and subsequently loses money on resale.
Or, OP holds onto that money, and puts it toward insuring a real actual RS 182 far earlier than he would be able to if he instead spunked all...
Wheels seem excessive, but think about what these have to do that mere mortal wheels don't?
I read something once about the tyre valves, how normal valves would open due to the centrifugal force on the valve mechanism at 250mph letting your tyres down, so they had to engineer valves that could...
Does that also apply to GW 197/200s with black speedlines as well?
I never tire of looking at these, the engineering, to fit so much into such a small package is epic.
Cost of coilovers vs cost of standard cup springs/dampers used from another member?
No setup or warranty issues, and to be honest, I've always felt Renault nail the setup as standard. Certainly more than enough for a fun day on track.
I think going from non-cup to cup is going to be quite a...
Re: My Ultra Red 200.
It's been photographed, documented, discussed, stroked, likely also had one knocked out over it already.
It has not yet been driven.
Sigh.
Nope. Just considering having a spare set of cup springs/dampers to throw on for each trackday.
There's no way the cup setup would work or be bearable on my commute.
So it's as simple as swapping springs and dampers...and that's it?
Nice.
First refusal on yours thankyou please.
