I've finally grown up/wimped out.
Much as I thought i'd never say it, I want something standard, something I can stick the girls in the back of with ease, something with real world pace...not just track pace, and fun thrown in as well.
I'm taking the Ignis around Goodwood next weekend, and the...
Useful thread, has almost convinced me that when the Ignis finally goes, a non-cupped 200 will replace it.
I do 50 miles each day on country B-roads, lots of dips, crests, and lumpy/crumbly tarmac, cup or not cupped? Hmm.
I've had mine almost eight years from new now. It's been relentlessly thrashed, bumped and scraped a few times, stolen, recovered, but still gives me the James May fizz every time it gets wrung out.
I'll never grow out of it.
LOL at the bucket seat abuse.
They hold you firm around corners, no?
So why is it only acceptable to fit them in a 1*2 that goes faster in a straight line, and abuse is dished out if they're fitted in a lesser model?
1.2s can also go around corners you know?!
T1Rs all day long. Squidgy sidewalls let you feel what's going on, and unless you're Tony Hunter, the loss of accuracy when pointing it at an apex isn't an issue.
They're generally strong units if well maintained.
Mines on about 130k now (lost the speedo at 107k), has had two trackday outings this year, and apart from one electrical hiccup it hasn't missed a beat.
