I'll pull it out tonight and have a look! I could always splice into it if so. Thats the problem with having a sat nav clio, noone has really modified them! I'll take lots of pictures for anything I do so people have references.
Can you not remove your pedals, bend or cut and extend them into the place that you're wanting them to be? You have a welder now ;) you have to learn some time
My clio has the factory satnav installed and I was wondering whether it was at all possible to change the headunit to something different? I have read they are connected but I'm just interested to see what anyone else who owns a clio with factory satnav has done!
Would I be able to simply just...
I didnt buy it because it had been advertised as mapped and cammed by the way! This wasn't actually in the original listing it's a few owners back who I had managed to get in touch with who told me this information.
Yeah, I don't really trust it to be honest! Especially when he told me it ran 216 on dyno.... He had said the throttle body was larger but it's stock unless he has bored it out? Suppose I could take it off and have a look.
It's easier to just believe it hasn't been modified and if it has, well...
Yeah it does just that. Also idles really lumpy, had been told it was cammed but don't know if that's true either as there's no paperwork to prove it. Is there another way to check if mapped? I'd get an RSTuner but no point if its already been done!
I was told by the PO that the car had been mapped at some point in its life. Is there a way for me to tell? I'd read that it would sit at 1.1k revs, and also have no limiter on it but the cars not actually on the road at the moment so I cant test the no limiter part. It doesn't sit at 1.1k once...
A video the PO sent me:
A video under the bonnet just to hear if anything sounds out of ordinary?:
Slight revving after warming up a bit, but still a bit cold:
I've spoken to a previous owner and he told me that when he bought the car it had just had the belts done (a few months ago) and that he did have the paperwork to prove it although it's not in my paperwork now! Not recently anyway... Although there was paperwork for a tensioner and alternator...
Well I received my car last night and I am over the moon with it! On first glance it has a custom catback exhaust, decat, ktec engine mounts, KTR Induction kit, Polybushed dogbone, hydrodipped(?) interior trim pieces, steering wheel trim and gear knob trim and tons of paperwork. Still need to...
Yeah, I'll most likely just continue to use my phone anyway! Does it speak to you then? I would ideally want to change the headunit to something a bit better but have also read that the satnav is connected to the OEM radio and thus cannot be remove without rendering it useless... Don't know how...
What's the best way for a novice to get a decent shine on the BG? Am I right in thinking getting it washed well, detarred, ironx, clay, wash, DA, cutting compound? Polish and then a wax? I tried with a rotary before and polishing/cutting compound but didn't seem to do much more than usual...
I'm thinking i'll take it to my brothers work to get it all machine polished. Excited to start making modifications that actually change the feeling of the car! Any ideas on the exhaust that's fitted? Doesn't look standard.
